Famous Phineases

Well-known Phineases include a nineteenth-century showman and an Israelite priest. The P in P. T. Barnum stands for Phineas. He created The Greatest Show on Earth,which later became The Barnum and Bailey Circus.The Biblical Phineas fiercely defended the Israelites' worship of their God, and God rewarded him by sparing the Israelites from a plague and granting Phineas and all of his descendants a covenant of peace.
