PHASES OF COMPETITION:

INTERVIEW: 25% OF YOUR FINAL SCORE
this in your chance to meet in a private interview with the judges
interviews are held earlier in the day prior to on-stage competition

SWIM WEAR: 15% OF YOUR FINAL SCORE
Swim Wear can be one or two pieces but it must be in good taste

TALENT: 35% OF YOUR FINAL SCORE
a 2:00 minute talent presentation
this is a chance for you to show off your talent

EVENING WEAR: 20% OF YOUR FINAL SCORE
an Evening Gown of your choice

ON-STAGE QUESTION: 5% OF YOUR FINAL SCORE
you will be judged on your ability to articulate both a sincere, engaging personality and your opinion



What can I expect as a contestant?
What are the requirements to compete?
You must be 17-24 years old, by Jan 1 of that competition year.

You must be at least a Senior in High School.

You must be a United States Citizen 6 months prior to competition.

You must be a New Jersey Resident, Full Time Student, or Employed Full Time in the State of New Jersey 6 months prior to competition.

If competing for a closed pageant then you must be a resident, full time student, or employed full time in that County 6 months prior to competition.


You will be asked to provide a valid form of ID, a copy of your birth certificate, and proof of address.
Paperwork required to compete, this must be filled out for EVERY local and state pageant.
Paperwork that MUST be filled out once for the
2008 pageant season.

Miss America now requires a $100 donation to the Children's Miracle Network in order to compete in a local Miss America Pageant.
This is NOT our rule but a Miss America Rule.
