Blue Widow'sRealm

My name is N.... I am 22 year old chinese girl. I have a brother named Brandon who is 27. I live with my parents in California. In my spare time I do volunteer work at a school for the physically and developmentally disabled. Mostly just veg in front of the TV or computer. I like the 49er's. I also like to read, cook, bike, swim, shop, hike, meditate, and do arts and crafts. I am a democrat, I advocate the preservation of the environment, animal rights, and tolerance between all people. I am pro choice, and a advocate for peace (guns are BAD). I think human diversity is a very cool thing. Cruelty and ignorance annoys/bothers me, but I try to be patient..I don't follow any particular religion, but I believe there is a "higher power". Blue is my absolute favorite color, I love it in any shade. Although I like dogs and most other animals, I am allergic to them. The pic is me at a car show. I have no idea what the car was, but I liked it. I go to community college, (don't bother asking which though). My major is Psychology, but that's not concrete. If people come to me with their poblems I am always willing to help them find solutions. I also find English and Anthropology very interesting. Math is my worst subject. I pretty much dislike all homework in general. I have been told I give good massages, and encouraged to become a Physical Therapist. I have plenty of time, so I just plan to see what comes along. I'm a pretty easygoing person, I take life as it comes. I fit the profile of a Libra pretty well. (and will be the first to admit, a bit of an idiot)

Movies/TV- The main thing I love in life is movies. I have seen a TON of them. I like to analyze them and compare them to other movies I have seen ( in addition to just plain enjoying them!). My favorite would have to be Memento. Guy Pierce did a wonderful job in that film, along with Carrie Ann Moss, and Joe Pantoliano. The cast also includes a cameo of Jorja Fox, who plays the main characters wife. It is a wonderfully twisted and crazy story, and the way it is presented makes it fantastically unique. Memento is a mind blower of a film and I would suggest to anyone who hasn't already seen it to do so. It is one of my favorites along with Matrix, and Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon. I can never pick a favorite, because all of them were so well done. Here's a link to list of all the movies i've seen at one point or another, and liked. The main genres I like,(combos really..) as you might be able to tell are Action/Adventure, and Sci-fi/Fantasy. Go see "Star Wars Gangster Rap" at Atom Films, it's hilarious. My two favorite T.V shows are Alias and CSI. I also occasionally watch cartoons like Powerpuff girls, Dexters Lab (although I don't like the change in art so I don't watch it as much now), Samurai Jack, X-Men, and Sherlock Holmes. The "Driver" films on the BMW Films website are quite kickass. I have to say, Clive Owen is really good actor. I especially loved the Star movie, where he was driving Madonna around. Frickin Hilarious. Except that one (which is him driving her around the city, rather recklessly [lol]), they all center around a car chase, and all are awesome to put it mildly. The New one is really funny as well. I thought the cameo by Marylin Manson was funny as hell. I wish it could be a full legnth movie.

Alias- Alias is just so dang cool. How can you not love it. The outfits that Jennifer Garner wears are so cool. The whole plot is so twisted and wonderful! Michael Vartan is such a good actor! (pretty damn hot too 8)) I heard they're going out together in real life! SO cool. I swoon when he speaks in French. This season has not dissappointed me yet. Who would have thought that Sark is a son of a Rich Diplomat?? There has been some speculation that he is a half brother to Sydney, and I wouldn't be surprised if it was true. OOOhhh I can't wait to see whats in store for the next season!

Books- In addition to my love of movies (and T.V), I also enjoy reading. Here is a reccomendation page for some of the books I enjoyed. I got Exquisite Corpse and it's... Interesting. It was good though in a vaugely disturbing sort of way. I finished reading the Sandman series by Neil Gaiman and they're really good. They're comic books, but really dark, like the Spawn comics. They tell the stories of Sandman, brother of Lady Death, who rules the dream world. The art is anime in look, Sandman is angular and gothic looking. Really great, but violent. I got a job at the library at the beginning of the year, and have been reading nonstop. go to Pop Culture Chaos.com to read the main bulk of my book reviews there. I really really love my job. Its hard sometimes, but the people are great. When I'm not working, at school, or posting on message boards, I'm reading Fanfics. I read fics about Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter, Gundam Wing, Cowboy Bebop, WeiB Kreuz, and well, pretty much anything that I vaugely know about and strikes my fancy. Jade is one of my favorite authors along with Sidara (who I meet up with now and again she's so cool), Spooks, Scarlet Fever, Miko No Da, Shoori/Aoe, and Rhyssen. Just click on their names. Oh! and Cassie Claires secret LOTR diaries, which are hilarious. (note: even though they are fantastic writers, they don't write fics that are suitable for/liked by everyone. Alot of them include slash, which is male/male relationships so don't read if you don't like it.)
I am hosting a couple fics written by a friend here.

NOTE- I'm in the process of writing my first fic actually, and heres the bit I have so far: HERE. Feedback is much appreciated.

HARRY- In honor of Order of the Phoenix I decided to make a seperate section for Harry. I have to say, I was worried that the book wouldn't meet my expectations, and that the long wait cooled my enthusiasm for the series but I am thrilled to report that that is not the case. To the contrary, I love Harry Potter even more now. OotP was AWESOME. She still managed to surprise and delight me this far in the series. The characters I liked were included in this one, and we were introduced to other interesting ones. Rowlings further explains things that have happened in pervious books, which is a relief. *rubs hands together* now for the next book

SLASH-It distresses me that people are shutting down some of these websites. I totally think that it's descrimination. Just because some conservative parents found out that their kid was reading some of these fics, and got all bent out of shape, the fans have to suffer. I can tell you that more than likely, if the kid found it, they were probably looking for it. The sites that I've seen all have disclaimers saying that if you are underage, you should not be at the site reading the fics. If the person chooses to enter than it's just that, their choice, and it's not the fault of the person who made the webpage. If the parents are that concerned with their child viewing what they think is objectionable material, then they should monitor their kid, or the kid shouldn't be on the internet at all. I don't see the fuss is with using characters from the Harry Potter books in fics. I think that it's a compliment to J.K because it means that she's made characters that people can connect too. If people write shota and incest slash, its because people read it and find it interesting. The writers always have disclaimers in their fics, they aren't stealing anything. Anything and everything is fair game for slash fans. As long as people like it, it will be around. It's to late for the government or whoever to try and shut it down, and if they try to, it's infringing on our rights as fans. It is an expression of art.

Online Comics-Penny Arcade is highly amusing, and Boy Meets Boy is adorable as well. I also like Schism and Arcana too. The last three have yaoi/slash in them so be warned. BmB can only be described as incredibly sweet and funny. Arcana reminds me of Angel Sanctuary, but with vampires. Very cool characters. Both of them are no longer updated, but the archives are still there. Schism has awesome artwork, and she even has the chance to color it! I also read "The Gay Baker" and it was REALLY funny. In addition to those, I read Sinfest and Sexy Losers. The latter one is a bit scandalous. One that hasn't been updated in a pretty long time is Your Wings are Mine, but it's really cool as well.

Anime- Cowboy Bebop is my current favorite Anime. My friend introduced me to the series and I absolutely loved it. Spike is my favorite character, followed by Jet, Faye, Ed and Ein. It is a blend of angst and comedy and romance, along with great music, that cannot be missed. You have to watch the series carefully, because there are a lot of little paralells that I missed the first time around. Spike Kicks Major Ass. I got 3-6 off Amazon. Aww yeah. 8) I like it because the villain doesn't change on you, unlike some other villains, you don't start out hating him, and then feel sorry for him. Vicious, the antagonist in this series is one bad ass motherfucker. My favorite songs includes: Blue, Real Folk Blues, The egg and I, The egg and You, Green Bird, and Want it all Back. I love the way the characters are drawn, and the use of slow motion at key moments in the series. The complexity of the characters is quite cool. Yeah. Go watch it. I've seen around 100 titles. Duo, Sage, Anubis, Saitoh, Kamuii, Arashi, and Fumma are my favorite characters. I saw Akira and it was one of the wierdest yet cool and interesting Anime's I've seen. It really is the epitome of all Anime. I have been watching Last Exile as of late, and wow is it great. I love the characters and animation. My friend introduced me to this series and I can't thank him enough. I'd like to take this moment to say that DUB sucks, and SUB rules. I try to see stuff in SUB when I can, but most of the time I have to watch the DUB and.. It hurts.. Some of the voices and translations are so awful. The Japanese language is so beautiful, why ruin it and put someone elses voice over it?? Down with DUB!

Manga- I have 2 of the old style WeiB Kreuz, Under the Glass Moon 1+2, INVU 1-3, Demon Diary1+3-7, 2+3 of Clover, Mars 1+4-6+10+14, 1-3 Eerie Queerie, All of Paradise Kiss, All of Petshop of Horrors, and all of the Japanese X that's out. Here is a random page of X pictures I've scanned. X was my first favorite, but ParaKiss has taken over I think. The art in Clover is so beautiful (it makes your jaw drop I swear), but the layout is absolutely terrible, which is a shame. Para Kiss is another cool one that my friend introduced me too. Yukari is quite Kawaii. I am not so sure if I like George though. Sometimes he a real bastard and so arrogant, but other times hes really sweet. The ending of it was a bit sad and depressing, but all in all it's a fantastic series. My most recent aquisitions were Eerie queerie 1 and 2. LOVE the stories, they're quite amusing. I recently tallied the amount I've spent on soley Tokopop Manga, and it's reached to about 350$ XD. I shudder to add on the manga not from them. ^__^;;

Anime Music Videos- I can't make them, but I just recently got interested in downloading them. I love MeriC's "All alone in the World" and "These Girls are Crazy". The first is a serious Trigun one, and it totally gets me choked up. The second vid is a Cowboy Bebop one that's really silly. Both are on animemusicvideos.com. The best one however, is a Cowboy Bebop/Trigun video called "Tainted doughnuts" by a guy named Eric. it's a hilarious vid where the Bebop crew sees Vash on Big Shot, and they decide to go after him. The mixing of the shots was brilliantly done. He recently pt it up on AMV.org if you want to check it out. I also recently discovered a couple Utena vids through a Utena livejournal community, set to Evanescence songs. MeriC also has a couple of great Kenshin ones. Redemption and a DDR one. I found a really cute Magic Knights Rayerth one to the Cranberries song "Dream".

Art My collection of wallpapers is Right here, so let me know what you think of them.

Games- I've only beaten a couple computer games. Tomb Raider 2, Grim Fandango, and Star Wars the Phantom Menace. I almost have The Neverhood beat, except I can't get to this one piece on a ledge. Its quite frustrating. I started playing Tomb 3 but I never finished it. Lara Croft is way cool. I'm addicted to playing pachisi on Hoyle Classic Board Games, and I love playing Star Wars Episode 1 Racer. Need for Speed 3 is cool too. I NOW CAN PLAY AMERICAN MG GEE'S ALICE! The graphics are top rate and the gameplay is frustrating but exciting. I recently finished it but theres not much to brag about because I kinda cheated. The game is a solid hit in my book. Very daring and dark. The cutscenes are phenomenal. I really hope that he does OZ. I spend entirely too much time on the computer, but hey, it's a great escape. I'd like to play Soul Caliber, but haven't had the chance to yet, plus, I'm not all that good at arcade games. I skipped school once with some friends, and went to an arcade, and this Guy totally whupped my ass on Marvel V.S. Capcom. It was kinda funny. I actually try not to play games too much, because I get obsessed. When I play, I get intense, and totally absorbed with winning. I absolutely hate to lose, and I lose pretty often unfortunately. It makes me crazy. From comics, the characters I like are Gambit, Rouge, Nightcrawler, Witchblade, Samuree, and Darkness.
I guess you could call the Harry Potter RPG a game, so I'm adding a bit about it. Thirteen_Hub takes place thirteen years after the 7th book. In the Game so far, the people present are all the Weasleys, The trio, Severus Snape, Blaise Zabini, Oliver Wood, Dean Tomas, Millicent Bulstrode, Marcus Flint, Terrence Higgs, Gideroy Lockheart, Neville Longbottom, Fleur Delacour, Professor Trewalney, Viktor Krum, Hanah Abbot, and Sirius Black. We've based our characters on cannon, but some characters have changed alot. Some people have a bunch of characters. There's only like, 7-8 players. I gave my characters (the Twins) up to Gwyn and Sarah just recently, so I hope they have fun playing them.
THE SIMS 2- Y'all knew that after my infatuation/obsession with Sims that I was going to buy Sims2 right? WELL my dad refused to get it for me on the grounds that it'd be bad, and he's absolutely right, so I bought it myself. I had a striking of honesty and gave it too him (cause he didn't know I bought it) but then I got greedy again and quetly installed it. I made a few houses and finally after a few months, I took the box back and pretended to install it but this time I had his premission. Things are progressing well in my various houses. Most people are platinum. I will be uploading a page of pics soon.

Music- I guess the closest you could classify the type of music that I listen to is "alternative". I love Blink 182, Gorillaz, Daft Punk, Smashmouth, Brilliant Green, Crazytown, Barenaked Ladies, and Sublime. Pink is good too. I like the beats of System of a Down. Britney and Christina are hoes. Backstreet boys and N'Synch are annoying. I don't really like alot of rap, and I definitely do not like country. I occasionally listen to classical (my favorite is Pachbell's Cannon in D). Crazytown's Butterfly is one of my favorites, and Blink's Adams Song. Madonna, Cher, Alanis, and Wallflowers have also been popped into my boombox at one time or another. Sometimes I even listen to old school stuff like Ah Ha's Take on Me. I have never listened to Emminem because I diagree with his rampant use of profanity, and his subject matters, but I respect his talent. Stan and Cleaning out my Closet are the only songs that I like of his. I have been looking for some J-pop and chinese pop music, but I don't know what's good, so if you have any suggestions of good artists, e-mail me.
Heres a little soundtrack of my favorites:CLICK
Right now I'm listening to: Blink 182-Down

Travel- On June 18-23 of 02 I went on a trip with my family to China. It was our first trip outside North America and we had a great time. Our first stop was Shanghai, then from there, we went to Szuchou, Hangzou, Guilin, Xian, and Beijing. We had a group of 11 family members and we were led to each city by a national tour guide, who made sure we got to each city ok, and that we met up with our local tour guides alright. We saw the Great Wall, Terracotta Soldiers, the Lee River, Tiananmen Square, Forbidden City, Hutong, The Summer Palace, The long Corridor, Children's palace, A 4 story tall sandalwood Buddah, beautiful Temples, ate great food, and bought up a storm at all of the little shops. It was amazing being there (even though it was terribly hot). Everyone had bikes, and they would flow along with the traffic. The streets were crazy there but you would see these little kids crossing them as if it was nothing. There was huge towering apartments everywhere, and in Shanghai, they all had their clothes hanging on lines outside their window to dry. All of the people were very nice. Not many english speaking people, but still pretty easy to get around. If we had trouble my dad is an artist, so he drew pictures. You can't drink the water there, but its very easy to get bottled water, we just had to make sure the tops were secure. (Some people re-use bottles 0_o)The plane ride was 13.5 hours long, but if you can deal with that I think that seeing China is definitely something you don't want to miss. My family usually takes one big trip a year. I've also been to New York, Portland, Canada (Edminton, Calgary, Victoria), Las Vegas, Washington D.C., Maryland, and Pennsylvania.

Martial Arts- If you ever get the chance, I suggest taking a marital art. I took karate for about 4 years and got my bown belt. I wanted to finish, but I had to concintrate on school. It's good for your self esteem and helps you focus in life. It teaches you respect, discipline, patience, and courage, not to menion all of the benefis health-wise. Lots of students does not equal a good teacher. If you're trying to choose a teacher, look for someone who is patient, and is willing to spend the time to make sure you understand how to do the moves. How do you know if the sensei is patient? Look at how he/she deals with younger students. You don't learn it to start fights, you learn it to be able to avoid dangerous situations, or if it comes down to it, to protect youself in those situations. It's a dangerous world so why not protect yourself? There are alot of different types out there, you just have to find out what you like. My dad has been taking various martial arts and is currently taking Kali. I think it's one of the most adaptable and useful martial arts that Ive seen. he recently got his black belt at the test in Maui. Im incredibly proud of him.

Driving- I don't have my license yet because my dad thinks, and I sadly must agree, that I am a terrible driver. I can't merge very well, and I have a bit of a lead foot. I have a permit so I have been practicing with him lately. My mom refuses to get in he car with me. My dad said that I can't get my license untill he's comfortable enough with me driving, so that he can fall asleep. So basicaly that means I won't be getting it until I'm 80. My parens are both very strict, so whenever I do the littelest thing wrong while diving, I get reprimanded. I need to pracice more.. -__-; Recently I drove to SanFrancisco for the first time, and it was totally nerve wracking. I didn't do too terribly but there was a ton of traffic on the road. I was so tense. My dad is the one that usually drives. When we got back in town, we had to pick up another car from the repair shop, so my dad had me drive one home. I kinda tailgated him ^__^

Relationships- I have been asked alot if I have a boyfriend. I don't. I used to have one but he just kinda left, so I guess were basically friends. I like to think of myself as an independent person (but I think about it and it's pobably just me being opinionated)and I have decided to remain single. The reason is, that I still have things to work out and understand about myself, and I think that a person should be able to completely understand themself before they even try to understand someone else. Everyone has their emotional baggage and it's not a simple thing to deal with. Relationships take work and understanding. It's the old house metaphor, you have to have a strong foundation before you can build more stories. Relationships are something you can't screw up on. I like to look at what a person is like on the inside and speculate on the different aspects of their personality. Another factor is that I can be a bit shy at times, so when I initially meet person I seem almost mute ^__^;. That's slowly changing though. People see my picture on the internet sometimes and say I'm pretty, but I don't think so, just..normal. Self image problem? hmmm...I don't think so. I like being with people, but Im comfortable just being by myself too.

My 21st Birthday- I Just celebrated my birthday on October 12th. It was a pretty great weekend. I was totally spoiled as usual. I got a sizable amount of money, and gift certificates, an Opal ring, a DVD player, books, a bag, alcohol, games and DVDs. The Saturday before my birthday we went to the cemetary to visit my Grandmother, watched Italian Job, and had a small dinner with my moms side of the family. On my actual birthday I celebrated with my dad's side of the family. We went to Millenium and had a very nice dinner. I had a stuffed pepper which was excellent. We watched the end of the 49er game and drank champagne.
Vegas- The day after Christmas last year, I went to Vegas with my friend Rachel. We had a great time going to the different hotels, seeing Mystere and eating at Fulton's fish fry downstairs in NYNY hotel. They have awesome chowder and fish n' chips. We stayed at NY, and visited Bellagio, Paris, Mandalay Bay, Caesar's Palace, to name a few. The highlight of the trip, I think, was visiting Fremont St. and finally being able to play blackjack. I won a fair bit of money, and even got 21 one time. Rachel was even luckier and got 21 about 6 times.

On the current state of a Affairs- I STILL DON'T LIKE GEORGE BUSH! I was horribly dissappointed that fear is still running strong in my country. I am so glad he's going to be out next time around.

If you find that you and I have a common interest, please e-mail me, I love to chat. Also if there's any broken links.
