Up

Long time no news... there is still only two of us and we've been taping and finishing everything for the decks to go on.

 05.05. chain plates

The taping included a solid week for producing these carbon beauties that'll hold the mast in the future - called chain plates. There are a lot of layers and only 5 per day should be put on to avoid the whole lot getting too hot (the epoxy doesn't like to get hotter than 60°C and the reaction heat is going much higher if there is too big a lump of epoxy..)

05.05. anchor lockers

The anchor locker area and the Dorade boxes in the front of the mast bulkhead had to be finished before the deck went on as well as

  05.05. ready for the decks

all interior bulkheads. So here she is ready for the decks to go on. And a first bit of the curved back beam is visible.

So now comes a week of big parts being moved with the factory crane:

And as it fits,

next comes the starboard deck

With the side decks on the cockpit starts to show it's future shape:

And as there is no time to hang around and enjoy the views, the next UFO is craned through the shed immediately:

13.05. coaming/coachroof

Astonishingly enough all this went on rather without big stress, but, as expected it was followed by a party... - NO PHOTOS - :-))))

Here follow some photos without comments:

Some things never change - X-Bein, the always hungry bird, still drains our ESKY

ps: the front decks and the gap in the front of the wingdeck will stay there until we finish the front beam. Hm, yes, in fact wer're still far from launching - but we're having fun.
