Up

After two years in the boat yard it was time for at least one of us to get back to paid work, so Ellen moved back to Europe to take up an IT contract in Brussels.

Bruges

Brussels

Europe has the old buildings, but Coochie has the blue sky:

Meanwhile Michael kept working on the boat and started with the airation for the engine

On the photo it's just ready to get closed in. The mesh is against rats. On the last boat we had one climb on board in Dunkerque and we had quite a chase to get rid of it...

First bits of furniture get build, the sofa

and the kitchen work top. The plywood work top fitted is taken out again to get a layer of stainless fitted on top of it - but this happens a bit later.

In November Michael decided to take up an IT contract in Brussels as well.

Australia is maybe not always dry, birds get drenched sometimes, but Europe in winter is worse:

So here we are, both going to the officeevery morning . The steering console was the las thing that got done beforeMichael left.

So now both of us gone, Chris who already helped us on the front beam, is continuing the construction. Chris sends us a lot of photos, so there is no excuse for not updating this web site once in a while.

First things outside get faired and sanded

and the cat walk is added to the boat.

A play mast helps us decide where to put the deck gear whilst we're on holiday in Australia.

Here a view of the finished davids with the support of the solar panels.

Daggerboard cases, we've been talking about them for a long time, but never got around doing them. Here they are.

one half gets inserted first as they're quite heavy to get lifted in.

We prefer hatches to prospects - for the look as well as for the airation. Marking out the hatches:

And this is the galley work top:

Guess it'll be hard to decide who's cooking first .
