Welcome to the Koninklijke Militaire Academie, the military academy of the Anglo-Allied I Corps and Headquarters of the Anglo-Dutch Guard. This website is part of the Napoleonic Wargame Club (NWC), an organisation dedicated to play by e-mail (pbem) Napoleonic wargaming, primarily the Talonsoft Battleground and HPS series. Thanks to contributions from Al Amos, The Scenario Design, The Anglo-Dutch library and all the authors, the KMA tactics archive is the most concise compilation of Napoleonic Battleground and HPS tactics articles available. If you have any questions regarding the archives or the Guards, or if you would like to apply to the NWC, the adjutant can be contacted by clicking on the link at the bottom of this page. The Guards A commission in the Guards can be offered to any officer of the Allied-Dutch Army. It may be refused, provided that it is the individual officer's decision and not the result of pressure from other officers of the corps or division. Before a commission can be offered the following criteria must be met, although they do not guarantee a Guards commission:
Guards officers must sign up to a Guards code. They must muster every month without recourse to reminders. Guards must be available as trainers if required and must also be available for other duties as considered suitable by Allied High Command. Guards officers are also encouraged to take part in the annual Guards Challenge Tournament. Failure to abide by these rules will result in dismissal unless authorised by the Guard Commander. The Guards Challenge 2004 With the final result declared a draw, the Anglo-Allied Army are now proud wearers of the Guards Challenge badge. However, with the 2004-2005 tournament underway, this triumph is already being contested. For further details and current progress, please visit The Guards Challenge 2004-2005 website. |
