Yes, the Beatles came first. In fact, the name Los Bravos was chosen for the spanish band because it starts with the letter "b". But who cares, because no matter how many trips the Beatles took to India or to the "hothouse", there is one thing they never had: The voice of Mike Kennedy (It's actually Kogen, changed to an English sounding name in order to not frighten the snoby british press). He was a great singer too, meaning, he knew how to use that "tool" of his voice. Exploding and fully living those songs with a punctuated delivery both in english and spanish. Los Bravos also had the great "touch" of the marvelous british orchestral arranger: Ivor Raymond (the same one as Dusty Springfield) and Alain Milhaud (pop-tops). His early solo records were aranged by: " Jean Bouchety " . The Beatles wrote all their own songs (with exceptions). This could be good or bad. Even though Los Bravos co-wrote many of their hits, they also were open to other outside professional writers. This in my opinion is great, because a great song is a great song no matter who wrote it. Since being based in Spain, its clear that the Brits and Americans were not gonna make life too easy for the band (trying there best not to give them airplay time), so naturally they are not as well know as they should be. Artist: Mike Kennedy Title: My Life here --I don't have this CD and can't find it. If someone wants to pass it along to me I would apreciate it.---------------------------- INFO: This CD was apparently recorded as Mike Kennedy with really just Mike Kennedy in 2001 with all songs written by a lady which apparently is a recording artist in Swizerland. The jacket you see, was the original jacket planned for the cd. However, years went by and the CD never came out. From sound samples I've heard it looks like that its mainly done with synthesizers. The drum programming is really good. In general the programming and production sounds better tha Mike's two previous offerings: "Mucho más.." & "De nuevo...". Thank God its not a bunch of remakes! Some of the songs are good. Check the very short sound clip. The annoying thing is that they have decided to release it with a different jacket, as a "Los Bravos" CD. Their comeback! Yeah, right!!?? If at least the y could have got the two other remaining original members to overdub drums and bass guitar over the material, it would make sense. But to release it as such might confuse people. The new jacket is horrible too. They use a picture of Los Bravos with 5 members on it!!! God!! The song "Un Payaso loco" is originaly an italian language song called "Non Dimenticarti di me" with original italian lyrics by Mogol and was first recorded for the 1971 Sanremo Festival by italian artists " Mal " and " I Nomadi " , though non of them did too well. The song "Destiny" from his "Mike is Mike" record is a slower cover of Jose' feliciano. The song "Que te Quiero" is originaly a french song called "Que je t'aime"!
