MID-MISSOURI OSU
ALUMNI

Overview
The Mid-Missouri OSU Alumni have been networking since 1992. We have arbitrarily established the geographical area within Kirksville to Rolla and Sedalia to Fulton as "Mid-Missouri" although we occasionally reach out to individuals further away when there is expressed interest. We do not duplicate efforts offered by the Greater Kansas City Alumni Club nor the St. Louis alumni. Most of our alumni live in close proximity to the University of Missouri-Columbia where many are working now or were previously employed.

We are not an official alumni club as defined by the Ohio State University Alumni Association since we do not have an approved constitution, conduct an election, nor have officers. However, we do meet informally and correspond as needed to carry out activities of common local interest or to comply with requests from the Alumni Association and/or University.

Our primary interests have been student recruitment and supporting University athletic events.
Student Recruitment
OSU student recruitment publications are distributed annually to seven area high schools. Alumni frequently represent the University at several high school college fairs and at the Missouri Scholars Academy hosted every June by the University of Missouri-Columbia. In addition, written and verbal follow-up contacts are made to students within the region who have expressed interest in attending Ohio State.

Scholarship Updates
We participate in the annual Alumni Scholars Program by distributing scholarship application materials to area high school guidance departments and to high school seniors who have applied to the University for admission. The application deadline is February 15th of each year. Our Scholarship Committee reviews and ranks the applications. Their recommendation is forwarded to the University for official action. The recipient receives a one-time $500 scholarship from the University.
