A fuel filter is good. Make sure that you get one ASAP! It's best to order one when you place your order for your new T-Maxx. As you can tell from the pictures, I installed one but neglected to clean it. Believe me, it will get dirty inside. Next tip. Make sure you clean it. It had about a gallon and a half through it before I checked it and as you can see it needed it. The filter is a cinch to install and just as easy to clean. But before you install it I would suggest you take it apart and check that the filter element is in place and has not been dislodged during shipping. The element just presses into one end of the filter. If it has come out just press it back into place. To install the filter, cut your fuel line in a place where the filter will be in a good location once installed. I would stay away from locating it to close to the engine as the aluminum will absorb heat and in-turn, heat up the fuel. Slide the fuel tubing on each end of the filter and your done. TIP: To make sure the fuel tubing stays on, use wire ties on each end for added insurance.
