Uploaded a new Raves list. For a hint, read quote below.

***
"On the sixth of April, in the year 1812--precisely two days before her sixteenth birthday--Penelope Featherington fell in love.
It was, in a word, thrilling. The world shook. Her heart leaped. The moment was breathtaking. And, she was able to tell herself with some satisfaction, the man in question--one Colin Bridgerton--felt precisely the same way.
Oh, not the love part. He certainly didn't fall in love with her in 1812 (and not in 1813, 1814, 1815, or--oh, blast, not in all the years 1816-1822, either, and certainly not in 1823, when he was out of the country the whole time, anyway). But his earth shook, his heart leaped, and Penelope knew without a shadow of a doubt that his breath was taken away as well. For a good ten seconds.
Falling of a horse tended to do that to a man."
Romancing Mr. Bridgerton, Julia Quinn

Don't Worry, Basta Comment Lang Kayo...
Jan 17 2007, 10:34 PM

There's something wrong with the commenting thingy (I think ayaw maglabas ang actual number of people who commented on a blog post. tapos when you try to comment, may lumalabas na error.)

Don't worry...chineck ko ang haloscan and so far, naaarchive naman ang comments so keri lang, magcomment lang kayo. i don't know what's actually wrong with it, but maybe i'll figure it out someday...

And to be sure, I put a recent comments widget sa links page so kung hindi kayo sure kung napost nga ang comment niyo, puntahan niyo ang page na yun at icheck niyo kung narecognize ang comment niyo. and if at first you don't succeed, then try, try again.

Fly, Firefly, Fly!
Jan 14 2007, 6:20 PM

Last December, I saw a VCD copy of Joss Whedon's Serenity at a video/music store in Rockwell. I didn't buy it then because what I actually wanted to buy was Ella Enchanted but since they were out of stock, I told myself I'd wait.

Stupid. Stupid. Stupid.

Now I can't find a copy ANYWHERE! But at least it's on HBO this month where I plan to watch and rewatch to my heart's content.

And for those of you who haven't watched it yet, go find out its schedule on HBO and buy yourself some popcorn because I promise you'll be entertained.

~~~
In the meantime, here are some quotes:
Hoban 'Wash' Washburn: This landing is gonna get pretty interesting.
Capt. Malcolm Reynolds: Define "interesting".
Hoban 'Wash' Washburn: [deadpan] Oh God, oh God, we're all going to die?
Capt. Malcolm Reynolds: [on the ship's intercom] This is the captain. We have a little problem with our entry sequence, so we may experience some slight turbulence and then - explode.
Jayne Cobb: We're gonna explode? I don't wanna explode!
Dr. Simon Tam: [to River] If there's any fighting, you fall down or run away.
[pause; regarding the rest of the crew]
Dr. Simon Tam: It's okay to leave them to die.
Jayne Cobb: I won't get eat! You shoot me if they take me!
[Mal aims pistol squarely at Jayne]
Jayne Cobb: Well, don't shoot me first!
Capt. Malcolm Reynolds: I'll take the shuttle in closer. Zoe, ship is yours. Remember, if anything happens to me, or you don't hear from me within the hour... you take this ship and you come and you rescue me.
Capt. Malcolm Reynolds: ah, hell shepherd, I ain't looking for help from on high...
Shepherd Book: Why when I talk about faith do you always assume I'm talking about god?
Capt. Malcolm Reynolds: [to Inara] You fog stuff up! You always have. You spin me about. I wish like hell you was elsewhere.
Inara Serra: [sighs] I was.
[seeing a whole fleet of Reaver ships coming at him]
The Operative: Target the Reavers. Target the Reavers! Target everyone! Somebody fire!
[as the Reavers are about to attack]
Dr. Simon Tam: In all that time on the ship... I've always regretted... not being with you.
Kaylee Frye: With me? You mean to say... as in sex?
Dr. Simon Tam: I mean to say.
Kaylee Frye: To Hell with this. I'm gonna live!
I've Got Stardust in My Eyes...
Charlie Cox and Sienna Miller (as Tristran and Victoria)
*practically speechless and giddy with excitement*
***
Tristran: I had thought that a fallen star would probably look like a diamond or a rock. I certainly wasn't expecting a lady.
Yvaine: So, having found a lady, could you not have come to her aid, or left her alone? Why drag her into your foolishness?
Tristran: Love.
Yvaine: I hope you choke on it.
I'm a Person of the Year!
Dec 20 2006, 2:12 PM
And so are you...if you own a blog. Time Magazine chose us because of the way we (or the internet) have revolutionized communication. Now whether or not the communication we produce is actually relevant is another story...
On other news, Buffy's back! and she's NOT dating The Immortal (big sigh of relief.) The Buffy the Vampire Slayer saga will continue in comic book form starting March 2007. Creator Joss Whedon will be writing the first four and last four issues. Yey!
I Can't Get to Where Are You?*
5 Dec 2006, 12:30 PM
It's getting to that time of my life again when I'm feeling a bit...I don't know...impatient. Which is really weird because I've been in such a creative peak these past few weeks, writing an average of two songs per week. I haven't been this inspired since high school when I started writing songs in the first place. Not that I'm complaining, really. It's nice to be inspired again.
On that note, as of December 2, 2006, 10 lucky friends were given copies of my collection of songs called Songs About the Boy. To read more about it, go to the songs page or click here.
I Love Sugarfree!
29 Nov 2006, 12:05 PM
So there I was, waiting for Irene in Powerbooks Megamall when I saw Sugarfree's new album Tala-Arawan. What else could I do but buy it? and so I did. And I don't regret it. I still believe that Sugarfree is the best OPM band around. So go get your copies, now na!
And by the way, there's a new song in the songs page, and a new rave list in the raves page.
On Philippine Idol again...
What? Paw is out? What? Nooooo!
On Hale and their new song Waltz...
Hale's new I-hate-you-but-I-really-love-you song could have been a whole lot better if: a. it sounded more like a waltz; b. the lyrics were a bit wittier (but it was a definite improvement over The Day You Said Goodnight where the lyrics were plainly not understandable) and; c. someone other than Champ were singing it. Honestly. He has a good voice but his face is just sooo blank most of the time, I wonder how the band survives in live performances. How exciting that must be, staring at his expressionless face.
On DVD watching...
Have to limit myself since my Buffy the Vampire Slayer marathon caused the DVD player to overload and now it won't play beyond 10 minutes of a dvd. But it's a good thing we have another dvd player and so far have finished half of Neil Gaiman's Neverwhere BBC series, and Eric Idle's and Graham Chapman's Personal Best of Monty Python's Flying Circus.
On this blog...
There's a new song available in the songs page. Go!
General Comments on Various Stuff
On Casino Royale...
James Bond's newest (and chronologically first) film has breathed life back into the cardboard-cut character making him more interesting (for me, who was never really interested in watching the whole saga until now.) Daniel Craig plays an earthier and dare I say, funnier (not haha-i'm-laughing-at-you funny but i-have-a-wicked-sense-of-humor funny) Bond who is still a little bit rough around the edges but the lack of sophistication (not to mention gadgets) doesn't make him any less cool but in fact makes him just more hot. Latest Bond Girl Eva Green joins my list of vavavoom ladies that include Monica Belucci, Sophia Marceau, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Paz Vega and Angelina Jolie.
On Marie Antoinette...
A Sofia Coppola film from start to finish that did not disappoint except for the fact that I was conscious of Kirsten Dunst throughout most of it. It's hard when good actresses become so popular that they can't disappear into a role anymore. I think it would have been better if a lesser known actress was cast as the lead. But aside from that, the film was very beautiful, from the pretty cinematography to the awesome rock music that reminds us that no matter how much society has changed, we are still the same people feeling the same things. It kinda inspires me to make a coming-of-age film of my own.
On Philippine Idol...
I want Paw to win. Mau is the better singer but I never really cared for her kind of voice (nothing personal, just that I prefer raw emotion to stylistics.) And please just get those guys off the stage. Aside from the fact that we don't need any more Eric Santos/Mark Bautista/Christian Bautista's in our music industry, they just simply have no fashion sense. I mean, honestly, black shirts with laces criss-crossed only suits (1) gay men, (2) gay men with really nice chests, and (3) Debra Messing.
On Miss Kita Pag Tuesday...
Even the title is horrible. Please take this song away from the radio. Please. Everytime I hear it it just ruins my day.
On The Lord of the Rings Trilogy Extended Edition...
My precious....let's go marathon! Honestly, every time I catch a glance of it sitting there under our TV, I just have to stop and stare and touch...
On Christopher Eccleston...
First of all, I forgot to put him in my crushes-who-are-too-old-for-me list. Secondly, he's going to guest star in new critical darling TV show Heroes. Yay.
On the writers of Gilmore Girls Season 7...
Don't read this if you want to be spoiled. Really. Don't. WHAT? You married Lorelai to Christopher? What are you thinking? Why? Why? Why? Yeah, I know they went to Paris and all that but WHY? NOOOOOO! I WANT LUKE!!!!!
As a Special Bonus for My Faithful Readers...
14 Nov 2006, 9:50 AM
Every week, I'll be uploading a song that you can download for your curiosity. And I put a stress on your curiosity because I'll just be recording these songs at home with my camera so the quality won't be that good but at least you'll hear what it sounds like.
Visit my songs page and look for the downloadable song. I'll only be downloading one song per week because my space in geocities is not that large so I have to erase it as soon as I have something else to upload. Hurry up before it's gone!
p.s. I totally forgot, Mr. Neil Gaiman celebrated his 46th birthday last Nov. 10. (which is soooo like me because I forget everyones birthday except mine. I used to think my crushes-of-the-moment were exempt from the forgetting. hmpft.) Anyway...Happy Birthday Neil!
p.p.s. and on Stardust news...paramount is releasing it as a summer movie so it's coming out July 2007!
