Music.
It's an artistic styling painted with a canvas of notes and
rhythms. It can be noise, a pick-me-up, soothing sounds, growling-mad
grinding, a dancin' beat, groove tunes, or just crap... whatever you call
it, it's music and in many ways it defines who we are and what we like.
You may not share the same musical favorites as I do but if you're open to
new things you may find that you can like a little something
different.
Below you'll find a small picture of the artist or cd artwork belonging to
a particular artist and a quick explanation as to the type of music that artist
makes and why I like it. I'm always open for comments so please drop me a line

Edwin McCain is a group composed of Edwin
McCain, Craig Shields, Dave Harrison, Larry Chaney and Scott
Bannevich. The stylings of this band are, in my opinion,
unparalleled. It seems that so much heart and soul go into the
music that it tells a bit of everyone's life experiences. The
songs range from ballads to rock to soul. I have had a chance
to see them in concert a few times and I highly recommend it.
Make sure you see the performance at a small venue. If you can
only purchase one Edwin cd, I highly recommend "Honor Among
Theives."

Hootie and the Blowfish

Hootie and the Blowfish is a group
composed of Darius Rucker, Jim 'Soni' Sonefeld, Dean Felber
and Mark Bryan. This band blends the best of southern blues
and traditional rock to bring a sound that hooks many people
into singing right along. As their music progresses much of
country that Darius likes and the rock that Mark likes comes
out in their songs but they never lose their southern soul. I
have had a chance to see them in concert and even meet them
in person and I higly recommend seeing one of their shows
especially because of their energy and how Darius plays the
crowd. If you can purchase only one of their cd's I would
recommend "Cracked Rear View" with "Musical Chairs" as a close
second.
