Mesh Grill Inserts!!!

General Specialties will make your pieces custom to your specifications. I offer a very wide varity or choices to make your setup custom, and different from anything else out there.

Since I have come up with a great new way to improve on an existing idea, these look sharper, cleaner and more professional than just about anything else available, especially for the price.

I have found a way to streamline the pieces. By putting a precise bend in the pieces, it gives not only a better oulined look but a kind of 3D effect as well. It is kind of hard to explain, so I have taken many pictures to demonstrate.

I am here to help you. I own an Impreza 2.5RS, and love to work on it. I did this mod for myself originally, by no means seeking profit. But the e-mails poured in asking "What would you charge for a set?" So I decided to perfect it and find ways of making it better than the "other guy" And I think I have. And the best part? If you want to do it yourself, Fine. I will even help you, for free no less. In any way that I can. I will be putting up a tutorial soon, so you can do it yourself too! But keep in mind I have been doing it for a while and I have it down pretty good so my pieces come out great everytime, and I have the labor down, where as you will have to do a lot of labor intesive work. Or I can do it for you, and it will work perfect, plus extras.

Not sure if it will look good on your car? No Problem, me and PhotoShop might be able to show you what your car would look like with it on! Send me a pic and I will hook it up for you. No charge of course. :)

While you have the blocking plates off to install the hood vents you could also put in rubber spacers for letting out hot air out of the engine bay. I can include the washers (with instructions) with your order for just a little over cost. Just another perk. :)

But I'm getting ahead of myself. Let me show you what I have:

So what's the difference? I put a precise bend in the edges to give it a streamlined look, in contrast to the jagged look of the straight pieces. Not only does this help the looks of the piece, it also helps the rigidity. So it looks better, and is stronger too!

You can see here in the bottom pic that the mesh gives a kind of un-even look. Where as the top one has the bend so that it all blends in one fluid line.

The effect here shows through pretty well. You can see how the bent edges make for a a smoother, more professional look.

Hood scoop piece. I was hesitant to put this piece on my car. But then I got it on, and it was night time so it looked ok. But then I saw it durring the day. When I saw it I said, man that looks awesome! You might also notice that My version goes on the outside, instead of inside the hood scoop. I think it not only looks better this way, but also provides better reinforcement because the scoop supports are backing up the mesh. I pictured it sparkling in the sunlight as I blazed past some SUV, all they would see was a glimmer of light from the hood scoop, and whoosh, I'm gone!.....o...k..., so I get a little carried away.

The light here unfortunatly does not do this piece justice.

These unfortunatly do not allow for bends, but they look great just the same. Easily the most dramatic and one of the better improvements for outside appearance.

I thought that while you had the hood vent covers off that it would be an opportune time to drop your hood vent covers. This is an extremely useful mod, and is especially beneficial during the hot summer months and exceptionally useful when running a cold air intake. I will include the washers and the easy to follow instructions with your order. Afraid of stuff getting into the engine bay, or that this mod is a waste of time? First off, the vent plates drop only about a half inch. I have power washed the vents directly to test it and have found that very little or no water in the engine bay afterwards. Is a half inch enough to do anything? Well you can feel the heat escaping after you have run your car, and hold your hand over the vent. And remember these were designed to act like a vacuum to suck out hot air from the engine bay. Need proof? Check out this picture of Brians car in the winter time when his whole hood was iced over, after a 20 minute drive. If there is enough heat in the engine bay to melt a half inch of ice, in sub zero temperatures at night, imagine what your belts, hoses and intake are going through in the current summer heat.

So, there we have it. The core pieces that I offer. HOOD SCOOP,.....HOOD VENTS.....GRILL INSERTS......AND BRAKE VENT INSERTS. I am working on a piece big enough for the Lic Plate area, but that is a work in progress. So you see what seperates me from the other guys, and see why it would be benificial to buy from me rather than do it yourself. Now, let me show you the extras that I offer as well.....

Ruberized coating. It adds style and strength to the your pieces. Not to mention makes you a little bit differnet from the other guys. And we can apply the layer of thickness at different levels. the first is just basic coverage, mostly for color. The second is medium coverage, and the last is heavy coverage. This can be added in case you wanted the mod, but wanted it a little more subdued.

Right now I can do 3 of the above colors and if enough demand presents itself, I will pursue the other colors. The ones available now...BLUE BLACK and RED. Colors I can get: White, hunter green, yellow, and Clear. (the colors represented here are approxamations derived from the coating manufacturer, except Clear which PhotoShop helped me with:) ).

And what is a product if you cannot customize it? So for your customization pleasure, I offer a little twist on the Rubberized scheme. A combination of different colors. I did my key about 8 months ago and after some abuse it still looks great. And I can cutomize to your specs. Want a general swirl? No Prob. Want a downward drip effect? No Prob. Want a wavy flame effect? No prob. Want to continue the scheme to other parts of the car, i.e., dash parts, keys, shifts knobs, bezels, whatever, you send it, and I will do it for free! (If you want a lot of items done, there will be a nominal fee).

And to continue with the color customization thing, I give you your choice of attachment hardware. Twist ties, any color of Zip Ties, and my favorite; High test fishing line. Just a note here; The fishing line has held mine through 8+ months, and through the icey winter without a problem. Also I am thinking about putting on the attachment devices, and then put on the rubber coating, so as to make the attachment visability to zero. Which by the way is a major drawback for zip ties..their high visability.
