MY 69 MERCURY COUGAR
This website will detail restomod projects I have done to my cougar.

Some info on my cougar:
Owner since 1988.  Originally white with vinyl top.  Father and son restoration in 1990 in garage.  Thanks Dad.  Quite a project for the first one.  Alot of metal patches in fenders and doors. Cut rear of car off except for trunk floor and frame rails.  Welded in back half of rust free cougar (doorjambs back).  Many coats of black lacquer and a LOT of wet sanding later it turned out pretty darn good.  The front floors, torque boxes, and frame rails were replaced in the mid 90's.
Engine - Still original 351W long block (~100,000miles).  Added Edlebrock Performer intake, carb, headers, Petronix, and one wire alternator conversion (mounts to the back of the original alternator).
Trans - Originally FMX auto, now has 94 Mustang GT T-5, Hurst shifter with lengthened handle, and a cable clutch.  Best mod I have done!
Rearend - 9 inch 3.70 trac-loc.
Suspension - Shelby 1.5" A-arm drop, 1.125" front sway bar, removed power steering and installed manual adapter,TCP subframe connectors, KYB's, and 16X8 Torque Thrust D's with BFG Z rated tires.  Originally 4 wheel drum.  Now has 70 cougar front disc and rear disc from cadillac and lincoln.
Interior - Procar buckets, Schroth harness's (great for autocrossing!), Tach and voltmeter put in dash.  New style cassette stereo with CD changer mounted under package tray.  Added interior quarter panel lights from a late 80's T-bird (look very close to original style!).
Misc - Battery in trunk, blacked out grill, eliminator scoop and wing, engine and trunk compartment lights from 80 T-bird (trunk) and 90's Escort (engine).  Trunk lid prop rod from a Ford escort (used its hood prop rod - perfect length!)
