Littlejohn

James Littlejohn 1811 - 1894, went to Tasmania as a convict, tried in Perth Scotland for stealing and convicted 14 Dec 1829, sentenced to 14 years transportation, arrived in Hobart 26 July 1830 on the third voyage of the Sir Charles Forbes which left Plymouth 5 Apr 1830 with 160 male convicts (two died during the voyage), and in 1844 he received his full pardon. He married Margaret Kearns born 1837, the daughter of John Kearns, who was also a convict for a time, in Tasmania. James Littlejohn became a boat builder on the Huon River, at Franklin, Tasmania.
On 13 Sep 1881 his daughter Elizabeth Littlejohn 1861 - 1941, wed Frank Austin and had 9 children. She died at her son John's home in Dover on 29 Dec 1941.

Elizabeth belongs to the 7th generation bearing her surname.

Henry John (Jack) Lockett son of Mary Elizabeth Lockett, aged 111 on 22 Jan 2002, was born at Tarnagulla 22 Jan 1891 and died 25 May 2002. He selected land at Linga near Underbool in 1912.
He enlisted with the 38th Battalion in WW1.
He wed 1923 to 'Doll' Ingwersen who died 1981. They have a daughter and 3 sons.
Jack retired in 1953 and moved to Bendigo.
Two sons run the farm at Linga. His daughter and other son live in Bendigo.
Jack now has 15 grand children and 23 great grand children.
He received the Legion Of Honor from the French Govt in July 1998.
