Our Thomas Hill Abrey, son of Robert Abrey and Anna Baker, is in the eighth generation of his line, going back to WILLIAM (ABORY) ABREY was born Abt. 1629 in Good Easter. Essex, England. He married ELIZABETH 1658 in Craxwell, England, and eight children were born, Francis, James, Robert, William, William, Elizabeth, Simon, Sarah. Generation 2 - WILLIAM ABREY was born 1661 in Roxhall, England, and died 1732, burial: 21 May 1732, Springfield, Essex, England. He married 18 November 1686, Stock, Springfield, Essex, England, to ANNE ROLFE born 1660, and died 1720, buried 08 October 1720, Springfield, Essex, England. Nine children were born, Anne, Elizabeth, Jane, William, Mary, Thomas, Samuel, Robert, Simon. Generation 3 - SAMUEL THOMAS ABREY (child number 7) was born 1698, and died 06 December 1778 in Springfield, Essex, England. He married JANE MAYHEW 1727 in Great Baddow, England, daughter of JOHN MAYHEW and JANE. She was born 24 March 1701/02 in 1702 - Great Baddow, Essex, England, and died August 1779. Seven children were born, Jane, Samuel, William, Daniel, James, Thomas, Elizabeth. Generation 4 - WILLIAM ABREY was born 27 January 1730/31 in 1731 - Great Baddow, Essex, England, and died 1802. He married LIDIA PUTTO 1755 in Little Waltham, Essex, England. She was born 1731, and son William born 1756. William married (2) MARY GLASSOCK 1772, children Thomas, Jane, Elizabeth. Generation 5 - . WILLIAM ABREY was born 1756. He married ELIZABETH PETERS 1779. She was born 1757. Four children John, Charles, Elizabeth, Jane were born at Fyfield, Essex, England. Generation 6 - JOHN ABREY was born 1791 in Fyfield, Essex, England, and died 1846 in Chingford, Essex, England. He married SARAH FRANCES. Six children were born, Robert, Elizabeth, Frances, Louisa, Frances, John. Generation 7 - ROBERT ABREY was born 1809 in England, and died 1840. He married ANNA BAKER. She was born in ? Middlesex. One child, Thomas, was born, and Robert was buried in Chingford with the monumental inscription reading age 31.
