Where does a mother begin who went out to search for the American dream for a little blue house with a white picket fence and 2 dogs, 2 beautiful children. Well one came true.. "My Girls" but more than beautiful children they grew into wonderful little adults with minds of their own and oh what minds. The happiest day of my life was when Dr. Cooke said you don’t have the flu you are going to have a baby. I have offen said "I gave you life and I would give you my life." Your years have not always been the most splendid, but I knew after all the mistakes I had ever made you would forgive me and know that I did the best I could of myself. I had given you both strong roots and wings that we so often spoke about and I have tried to guide you to becoming the marvelous, exceptional, extraordinary, and wonderful women and mother (Shawna) that I knew you could have become. You are both such different persons but yet what I prayed so hard for was depending on each other, and knowing no matter where I was you ALWAYS had each other and you have such potential. You both are generous and intelligent young women. Your ability to be good friends and how neighborly you are to people. You are always there to offer assistance. People have told me of your kindness and consideration for others. Thank you for being my best friends, my playmates, my helpers, my mirror, my teachers, my students. I love that the way you make me feel like a special Mom. I love your sensitivity to me and to others, and I love that you don’t make me feel old. I love that you like to call me, and you make me feel like you really want to talk to me, not just out of obligation to call your Mom. I love that you make me feel so good when you introduce me to your friends, you make me feel truly loved. But most of all, I love that you are my daughters and my friends, and that I have you both in my life.
