When I met you Kelsey.... Wow this is the most exciting time I have ever known. I have had so many different feelings... as I am now just getting home from the hospital and after calling everyone I knew and getting on the Internet for the world to see my baby. While everyone was at the hospital awaiting your arrival, I looked out over the hall and there were young adults and old adults sitting all in the hall and the waiting room. I stood at the end of your Moms hall and a set of double doors would open and close, since your Mom is such a private person, and was in a lot of worthwhile pain. We just would go in and out and not stay in there with her, for that was a job for Daddy and he did such a wonderful job supporting your Mommy and they were both so brave. I had decided not to be in with your Mommy so that Aunt Kisha could be with her. Aunt Kisha and your Mommy are so close and I had been through it and I wanted her to see what it was all about. I am really glad I made that choice. When it was time for us to come in after you were born.. Daddy, Mommy, and Aunt Kisha were smiling and so excited. I was so proud of all 3 of my girls. The time finally came that they handed you to me... ;-) What a feeling, it was all I could do not to fall out on the floor.. I just stood and looked at you and thanked God above that he was so good to us by loaning you to us. I loved you right away and knew then and there God had given me a second chance to love again. I knew I could walk in the park with you and pick flowers with you, and cry with you and laugh with you. I knew I wanted the relationship with you that I had always had with my grandmother, to pray together and just walk hand and hand together. I had learned anyone can give to a child but to give of ones self was another thing. You were a part of me and of that wonderful little girl that at birth everyone said she may not live to be old and now look at her and you. What a blessing!! Your tiny little fingers and toes were all there and prefect. Your bright little eyes, were looking all around as if to say "Well what's next?" You were so sweet looking at your Daddy as if to say "I really love this man already more than life." It was just like someone had told me. "I never knew love like this within seconds of your birth. I do want to give you the world but I want to give you me. Whenever you need me I will always be there for you, whenever you want to cry I will cry with you, when you want to laugh I will laugh with you." I love you Kelsey and I can't imagine life without you now. You are my heart and will always be my heart baby girl. Welcome to the world baby. Always, ~GrammyMel~
