Christian Counseling 2002

Hello:) I have just finished up training, in January of 2002, for a Christian Counseling Pregnancy Center:)I wanted to write some about it, because it was here, at this Center, I was able to get confirmation, that one on one counseling was for me and what I was to do. I also found Christian Counseling classes by being at the center at the time that I was:) at a wonderful discount:)What a Blessing.

I am currently taking these Christian Counseling courses and pursuing my "Social Work degree" I don't see people as "Cases" I see them as Humans with feelings. People are Special, Valuable, and Loved so much by the Lord Jesus.

I was told that the Center was also Blessed, by the time that I was there. I am so Thankful the Lord had his hand in ALL of this the whole time that I was there:)

I am Thankful that the Lord even uses me at college. Thank You Jesus. You better believe, I write about religion and the Love of God every time I get the chance! I have even wrote about things in the Bible and had the Bible in my Works Cited page. I have never gotten below a B on ANY paper that I have written. Thank You Jesus. When the class is asked to give an Introduction from the Professor (Which happens alot) I let them know Who I am, What I have done, and What I am doing now. They always seem to say, "Very Good" Most of the Professors there have Christian Values & Christian Church Home themselves as well. The may not "Announce" that. However, in one way or another, by something they say, it is known. Actually, I have talked with each teahcer I have had, personally. Maybe it is a nice smile or the Motivation I have. I don't know, but they always speak to me and smile, Whether it is in the Local Grocery Store, in the Community, or at School.
I have even Witnessed to others at college about the Love of God. If I am led, I tell them how I ONCE USED to live, Which was a life full of Drinking and Drugs. Alot of times, they look at me and say, YOU? WOW, I would of never guessed that by just looking at you or talking with you. Yes, my life once consisted of where my next supply of drugs were going to come from and when I could drink again. It was a awful way to live. Sometimes, I could not even remember what I did the night before and how I got home. That is awful. Thank God for HIS MERCY and GRACE.
See, how are other people suppose to know what GOD CAN DO, if we don't share and let them know. We can Witness and Plant Seeds
in our every day Communication with other people.
It is what the Lord guides us to say and do with other people.

Just the same, I let people know, when I am Blessed by the Lord. It is the LORD that Blessed Me(Us). How are people going to know that it is the LORD that Blessed Us?, if we don't tell them. They won't know. It is up to us, to spread
the Gospel of Jesus and the Love of GOD.

Many times, I say, "Lord Who Do You Want Me To Bless Today"? :) It sure is such a Blessing to Bless Others. It really is.

They pass Bibles out at the college and play Christian Music, on the speakers outside, sometimes as well. It is such a "Blessing" I have also had the opportunity to Pray for and with others at the college. The Lord knows I will. I believe that is why others are led to talk to me, many times. I have seen Prayes answered for others as well. So, not only am I Praying for others, I am hearing Praise Reports as well:)

One little girl really touched my heart. I guess, when others are in their 20's, and I am in my 30's;I think they are young:) We had English 102 together. She had wanted to take some summer courses, and they didn't offer those where she was going to school. So, she came to my college to take that. We were walking out to our cars together, on the second day of class. We were just talking about the "Big" Research paper we had to write..lol and 10 pages was pretty big. I had already decided, since Religion was a part of the Poem we had to write about, I was going to write about John the Baptist, Lazarus, Jesus being led through the Wilderness forty days and forty nights, being tempted by the Devil, Hell, Sins, and Michelangelo(The Sistine Ceiling Painter). I was not going to "Make Up" things either. I was going to use the Holy Bible along with a few other reference books (because we had to have 8 different references for quotes) to write this paper. I did get a B on the paper:) In this class, 2 or 3 grammar mistakes though-out the whole paper,
you got a B.
I also really found my Creationism vs. Evolution research interesting in Political Life. Even though the class was mostly about Goverment, we did get to write about a Supreme Court Case. The one I happened to pick, from a whole great big list:) was about
Creationism vs. Evolution and what the US Constitution has to do with that. I did get to voice my own thoughts at the end of the report. I focused on Prayer in school. I got a perfect A "Very Good" written on that paper.
I sure was glad the Professor liked it..:)
I also have had the chance, in my Computer Science class, to share a Power Point Presentaion about Drinking and Driving. I had Mike's pictures and what happens when Drinking and what Grief is and does to some-one. I posted The Web site URL as well. I trust, it was presented in a class that needed to see it. At the end, there was a huge applause, and the Computer teacher wanted to hand out tissues. She said, Thank God it was no more slides than 5. It was hard to sit through it, but I made it.
Sometimes, it does get "trying" for me to keep up, with a Family and Many other things in my life. However, I always make it:) If I remain part time, I have about another year to go..shew..:)

Back to the Praise report:).. She said, I am just really having a hard time focusing right now. I said that I was sorry, before I even knew anything. She said, my Dad's place of work closed, and I don't know if I will have money to continue with college. She was going for engineering. I knew, she needed to be in school. This was in August of 2002. She said she applied for a scholarship and still hadn't heard anything. I said, I will be glad to Pray for you. She said, Thank you so much. At that time, tears started flooding down her face, in the college parking lot. Then, tears flooded in my eyes. She said, I am a Christian and I need to stand firm that God won't let me down. She said, her Faith was being tested. I Prayed. She remained in class. I was glad to see that.
You know, 2 weeks later, she came running up to me and said, "THANK GOD" I smiled and said, He came through for you didn't he? {I KNEW HE WOULD} She said, Oh Yes! I got a notice in the mail for my funding for classes for next year. She was so happy! So was I:) She ended up doing wonderful the rest of our English class. I just think it is so Awesome to see God Move in Favor of people. He is so GOOD.
I just wanted to share that. I thought it was worth sharing here.
ALL things just have to be done in the correct way and with WISDOM.

I met the lady who owns and runs the Christian Center, from my Social Work class last quarter. She was my teacher (I did get a 97 for a final grade in her class:)She is a wonderful teacher and a wonderful Christian Lady. I really learned alot from her and her class. She had some guest speakers come in and that was also a "Blessing" for me. She had a lady come in that works in Criminal Justice. Some Social Workers may choose to work with juveniles who are in the "System" for problems. However, the Social Work teacher STRESSED to us, before the guest came to speak, that Criminal Justice was Primarily for "Protecting the Community" if we wanted to do that, then Social Work was probably not what we would want to Major in. Police are a good example of a person with a Criminal Justice Major. Those words really stuck with me, because I know that the Lord wants me to "Help Others" in the Community above all. If there was a person who I felt needed counseling or support, my FIRST obligation would be to Protect by placing them in jail or a center for Rehab, NOT do the actual Counseling myself. I am Thankful that the teacher was bold about that and sharing what the actual job description of Criminal Justice was. I did not know, when I started her class. Thank God for people who major in Criminal Justice. They are much needed for "Order" and "Safety" in our Society, but I know that is not what the Lord wants me to do. When he had me leave college previously, that is why. Criminal Justice was not what I was suppose to do with my life. I was so sure that it was. But, I know the Lord was dealing with me about it.
She also had a lady come in from a Local Crises Center in our Community. That was a "Blessing" as well. We had our first test coming up in Social Work, and we were all a tad nervous:) The speaker said, she had a test coming up as well, to renew a license she had. She said, I have studied enough, and I am not worried about it. A "Test" doesn't "Really" tell you what you CAN DO out there. It is when you get OUT there and are doing Social Work, you KNOW what you can do. Well, Thank God! I already know what I can do. It is amazing. The Lord has given me so many "Blessings" in ways of finding door openings and knowing I can do what HE IS ASKING ME TO DO. I am very Thankful for that.
I was so amazed that she built this Center for the Lord, because HE asked her to build it. I pray he always Blesses her and this Ministry. The Center reminded me soooo much of the online group that the LORD asked me to build online for a Season "the Wing's of Peace". Helping Others, Praying for Others, and Bringing Others to a Saving Knowledge of Jesus Christ. That's the WHOLE MISSION of this Christian Ministry, and it was the WHOLE MISSION of the Wing's of Peace:) Although this Center, is for helping these girl's ( and guys:) make an INFORMATIVE, EDUCATED CHOICE on what is best for her (them) and her (their) baby and give them and their family Emotional and Spiritual guidance. Of course, Abortion is a HUGE NO NO. Every life is sacred in the Eyes of the Lord. They do NOT KILL. If they have had an abortion in the past, this Center offers a Abortion Recovery Class they can go through to help them deal with the emotional and physical scars Abortion causes. They offer spiritual guidance that God Forgives those who have had an abortion through repentance and realizing it was wrong. They also Educate on Adoption, Abstinence, and Drugs and Alchohol. If she keeps her baby, they are there for her support, and her families support and help her to earn points by going to Parenting classes, Prenatal Nutrition, Bible Studies and Discipleship. She may spend the points she earns at the Centers baby store, where she can get many different items that the baby will need:) How much of a Blessing this center is for so many. They also give FREE Bibles and Tracks to many. Thank You Jesus.
When I first went to visit the center, I had NO idea it was a Christian Ministry. I gave my Adoption Speech in this Social Work Class, and the teacher said, I think that is something really good for you to share with the girls that come to the Center. I was so excited, because with me being Adopted (and my Social Work Teacher is to:) I have always loved to share with others about Adoption and reach out. I just had no idea, at first, it was a Christian Ministry. I am so Thankful the Lord has Blessed this Center, with helping Youth come to know Christ and help them in their walks with the Lord The Center helps them with life's issues that can weigh one down. Hopefully:) the Lord can bring them up; ALL the way to the TOP!:)
Through this Center, I also found the place to take Christian Counseling classes to be Certified in and that's been a HUGE Blessing! I should be done hopefully in about 3 months, depending on how fast I want to get certified. I am taking Christian Counseling and Women, and the Christian Counseling course, Caring for People God's Way, which is an Overall Counseling course that teaches you to counsel others for MANY different needs that they may have. I knew the Lord wanted me to be educated, but I also knew, I needed to let him do the correct things in the proper order in my life at the right times. Only He could get me to where I needed to be. These Certifications will enable me to be able to now be a Counselor in a Church or Maybe Churche(s), if that is the Lord's Will.
I also got to attend an Evangelism class (I loved having a refresher course:) which I would not have had I not been at the Center:)
I do Thank Him for making all of this possible for me. I Thank Him for bringing me to the right place at the right time, so that I could be educated in the right career path that I needed to be in. I hope, through God, to be able to help others, with many tools..to get through hardships in this life, with Gods Love and Guidance. I hope to bring others closer to God.
The Lord has changed my career path RIGHT NOW and intervened in my choice as a career and AGAIN:) I am so thankful:) I know, that one day, if it's the Lords Will, I WILL be able to get my Bachelors Degree, which will equip me to be a Professional Counselor and have that ontop of my Christian Counseling Certification's. If not, I am "Thankful" he has let me receive Christian Counseling Certification:) Why did I choose Social Work and NOT Psychology to Major in?...Well, Social Work has a WIDE variety of career choices and settings that you can be educated to work in. Social Work offers a wide, wide variety of places that I can become employed. If something should happen, and I can not go the full 4 years, I can easily find a beginners job with a 2 year degree. With Psychology, it would be hard to go for 2 years and come out of college with a job. I do have to have some Psychology classes to become a 2 or 4 or 6 year degreed Social Worker. Most of the classes focus with a variety of situations to help others in their mind, AND in their enviorment (which is important to function as best as we can also).

Having Studied the different aspects of Psychology, I know that I would concentrate and apply the Congnitive(Thinking and Memory) Clinical (Helping Others through Depression and Life's Difficulties) and Humanistic Psychology in Counseling. Humanistic stood out for me. The Humanistic approach focuses on Choices. We ALL have Choices and determine what we will do, how we will do it etc.. I believe that to be so true. We ALL do have Choices. We have common everyday Choices such as: What we will wear, eat, watch on T.V, Read etc...To me, this goes together with Christian Counseling in many ways. We have Choices..Will we go to Church? Will we read our Bible? Will we Pray? Will we Strive to Live for God, Etc..Choices- we ALL have them to make in our own lives. I Pray for myself and others to make "Correct Biblical" Choices.

If the Lord leads me this way, I can go 6 years and have a "Professional" Counseling practice of my own as a Clinical Social Worker, after I have been under a agency supervision for 2 years. If I ever was led to have a Practice of my own, it would be a
Christian Counseling Place.
I know I can do that without having 4 or 6 years of college. I could get 2 years and have that ontop of Christian Counseling Certification and work for a church(s) or someone who feels I could be of assistance to them. Money is NOT an issue with me. I know God WILL take care of us. We will see what his Will is as time gets closer:)
I know, ANY "Education and Credibility" is important to have in wanting to Professionally be able to help others and to be able to know MANY tools and expand my gifting to be able to best counsel others. Futhermore, any degree would allow me to go anywhere and have a career. (We never know if we should have to move or just what is ahead in the future)

A Christian Counselor to me is- Some-one who has Overcame: by the Love, Peace and Grace of our -Lord Jesus-
Then, by feeling the hurt of others, they may extend back to others- the Love, Peace, and Grace of our -Lord Jesus-

There is a Very Good Possiblity- that I may take Distant Learning courses through a "Credited Biblical College" I talked with them today-January 13, 2003. I can take my 2 Year Social Work degree courses, apply those credits at this Biblical College and work twords a 4 year Bachelor Degree in Christian Counseling. The Counseling Certifications I have now count for 30 college credit hours there. Praise God! That was great to know:) I only had 3 General Education Electives left "on their list" that I need to have here at this college. I think it would be wise to finish those up here and possibly start with a course there soon. I may need my 2 Year Degree as well someday. WOW, I may be working on my 4 year degree sooner than I thought:) I have 6 months to finish a course through them. Sure hope I can do it in that amount of time:)The lady was so nice and helpful I talked with. She told me God is so good. Here I was worried about travel time that would be coming up for me, if I went beyond 2 years here. Biblical College was not in my picture either, but it may be in the Lord's Will for me:)
I am Praying that the Lord will guide me correctly. I am sure he will:)
I taught a Parenting Class Monday nights. Even in this Parenting Class, I was able to share Bible Versus, and Open and Close in Prayer. There are SOOOO MANY chances to bring others (Young People) to a Saving Knowledge of Jesus Christ:) This Center Helps Others, Prays for Others and With Others, and Bring Others to know Christ.
The Counseling part of this Center is a lot like a Clinical Social Worker would do or a Psychologist. Only...THEY BRING OTHERS TO KNOW JESUS CHRIST and HELP THEM THROUGH JESUS CHRIST. "It is a WONDERFUL, AWESOME KIND OF COUNSELOR TO BE" a Christian Counselor:)
I AM VERY THANKFUL:) AGAIN, that the Lord has layed this path out before me, and I know, with HIM as my guide HE WILL NEVER LEAD ME WRONG:) I KNOW ALL THING'S ARE POSSIBLE WITH THE LORD GOD ALMIGHTY, and IN HIS TIMING HE WILL MAKE THE RIGHT THINGS HAPPEN, IN SOMEONE'S LIFE:) THANK YOU JESUS! THANK YOU!
Thought I would also, add:) My Husband is going to be starting College this Fall of 2002. His company is going to pay for his Education:) He is going to go for Computer Management Systems. He is wonderful in Math. Thank God!!:) I sure am not good at Math...lol
I am THANKFUL that the Lord has guided him to go to College:) He is going to go at night and I am going in the day:) So it works out very well. Thank you Jesus!!

I do believe in "Outside Professional Help. Sometimes, we just have to obtain this in our lives {such as Christian Counseling, Personal Counseling, Alcohol Treatment, Drug Treatment, Family and Marriage Counseling Etc..} but I also know the Lord Jesus needs to be in YOUR Life and Heart. He HAS to be the "CENTER" of your Professional Help
No-one can put your life back together and make You and Others You Love,
"COMPLETE and "WHOLE", with-out "EMPTINESS",
And Make your Situation that WAS Bad work for the GOOD
as Jesus Christ Our Lord CAN.

Life?s Not Only About Me

Though my troubles and my worries
