Zed awoke with a start."They're coming,"he muttered.He climbed out of his bed and made his way through the town of Saint Centour to the house Mariel lived in.He then knocked on the front door.

"This had better be important,"came a voice from the other side of the door.Two seconds later the door opened."What is it" "Zed?"asked Mariel.

"The demons are coming back,"exclaimed Zed.

"Are you sure?"asked Mariel opening the door all the way.

"Yes,"replied Zed,"being a former demon,I felt their prescence approaching this planet."

Mariel sighed and lowered her head."Then Gina Adelhyde should be recieving the letter Cecilia left for her."

"He'll want to be awake when she shows up,"said Zed,"should I wake him from his sleep?"

"Yes,"replied Mariel,"He's slept long enough waiting for this day to come.It's hard to believe one thousand years has gone by."

"He sure did pine when Cecilia died,"said Zed.

"Of course he did,"responded Mariel,"even though he wasn't human,he had deep feelings for her.And being shut down was" "neccessary.If not he'd of gone crazy from grief."

"Yes,"replied Zed sadly,"I remember what that can feel like."He walked to the front door.I'll bring him here as soon as I" "can."Zed then left her house.

He walked to a house on the other side of town that had been sealed up securely.Taking his schythe he destroyed the brick wall that was sealing the front door.He then walked in and lit a candle.

After he did that he turned to the bed,the only piece of furniture in the one room house."It's time,"he said to the figure on it.Zed then flipped a button on his chest that had recently been added to him.

The boy opened his eyes and sat up."Hello Zed,"he said.

"Hello Rudy,"answered Zed.
