A Bay of Plenty trip thru the Mercuries, Aldermans, Mayor & volcanic White Islands is a possibility.
Offshore trip to the Kermadecs & possibly Minerva Reefs - 2 or 3 weeks next winter.
Xmas/New Year 2 week trip up the coast to Bay of Islands, Cavallies, Poor Knights, Mokuhinaus, Gt Barrier etc was enjoyed from 22nd Dec to 6th Jan. Crew joined or left enroute to suit.
Anniversary Regatta Wknd Jan was a Gt Br, Coromandel 3 dayer.
Waitangi Day was a 1 day sail.
Easter was another special 4day wknd at both the Mercuries & Fitzroy, Gt Barrier - great trolling enroute.
Queen's Birthday, June 2nd combines with the wknd, 31stMay,1st June to enable a favourite 3 dayer - aiming for Gt Barrier?
Classique is a NZ Ocean 22metre which has circumnavigated the World during the past 19 years. Beginning with the America's Cup at Fremantle in '86, then in San Deigo. Classique cruised the entire Pacific before crossing the Southern Ocean via Cape Horn to the Caribbean. After 8 years based in the BVI, Capt Mel sailed solo across the Atlantic,Mediterranean,Red Sea,Indian Ocean,Timor Sea,Gt Barrier Reef & Tasman Sea, returning to NZ for the Millennium & America's Cups.
Kermadecs (NZ Marine Reserve) 620 miles NW of NZ & Minerva Reefs, another 300 miles further, contrast extremely in appearance from tall & volcanic to vast coral lagoons. Both with exceptional visibility & sea life.(incl crays on the massive reefs)
