I acquired my first akita, Toronaga O’Kaminaga from Gary Prediville’s Toronaga Kennels in 1990. A lovely Red and white pinto bitch she was my introduction to the world of dog showing and breeding. She went on to become a champion in 1993 with several BOB and group wins. She is no longer with me having gone to another breeder in 1995.

1992 Gary offered me a 1/2 share in a black & white pinto bitch, Toronaga Panda Bear. I subsequently obtained full ownership of her and campaigned her to her title in 1993. Although she wasn’t my first bitch I regard her as my foundation bitch and indeed my most recent champion is her grand daughter "Girly". A Son of hers, NZ Ch Meiyosho Blackjack is currently being shown by Marilyn Jutson. She had several BOB and group wins on her way to her title. Though she is no longer with us, her influence continues through her progeny. 

NZ CH TORONAGA PANDA BEAR - QUEENIE

In 1993 I acquired Linden Grange Rocky Road from Logan & Jill Linton’s Linden Grange Kennels. A striking puppy, he had several BOB, group and in show wins over older dogs and gained his championship title a year later in 1994. Now retired he has gone on to a loving pet home.

Lerado Colors Ofthe Wind (Imp Aust) is our latest addition to Meiyosho Akitas. Shown here at just 9 weeks, Poco has much substance, a bear head and loves being cuddled. She is a half sister to Star. She has been lightly shown as a baby and is an in group winner.

NZ CH Nedyenko Pride N Joy came from Michelle & Ned Knezovich’s Nedyenko Kennels in 1998. In her have come together the lines of my previous akitas. Her dam, Linden Grange Wind Song is a litter sister to NZ CH Linden Grange Rocky Road and her sire Meiyosho Hot Gossip was the son of NZ CH Toronaga Panda Bear. Meiyosho Hot Gossip’s sire was NZ CH Monarkin Master Son imported from Australia by Keenan Kennels. A big girl, she has a lovely temperament, inheriting her dams placid nature and her sires playful, boisterous attitude. Her best friend is the family cat and the two of them often play together. At 18 months old I have no current plans to breed her but a breeding at some time in the future with my newly imported boy from Steve & Wendy Watts, Lerado Akitas (AUST) is a possibility.

Meiyosho Blackjack is still quite young but is growing into a beautiful boy. Only lightly shown he is a BOB and In group Winner, we are looking ahead to a promising future. He has a great loving temperament and enjoys being pampered by his owners- Marilyn Jutson/Gary Prendiville.

1999 we recently imported from Lerado Akitas (AUST) our latest Baby boy, Lerado Chase N The Stars. He is out of their USA import AM CH Chereed’s Winds Of Time. At only 4 months and already 24 ins and growing, he has a superb temperament, is very sound and has a bear like head just like his dad. He is definitely THE ONE TO WATCH in the future.
