A Verse Ot Three

I am often asked how I write my poetry,

How can I sit and write a verse or three,

Do I have a secret method of meditation,

to help unlock the mysteries of imagination?

It really all depends on the poetic form I use,

Some forms I stick to, others I simply abuse,

I make sure that I always carry a pen and paper,

For words and phrases I might not remember later,

Some of my works I plan from start to finish,

Making sure that the structure is given a final polish,

Others I build up line by spontaneous line,

My words stitching seams together like twine,

So to summarise, I have no set in stone style,

A blank canvas with no guidance to defile,

I pick the path to tread as I walk over it,

And happily to spontaneous input willingly submit.
