Algorithm
Many of us use the word "algorithm" in our computer science research articles, lectures, seminars and talks. The word is believed to be originated from the name of the great mathematician: Mohamed (son of) Mousa Al Khwarizmi. Read the interesting articles "Algorithms in Modern Mathematics and Computer Science" by Donald Knuth from here, and the English translation of "Al-Khorezmi: A Forgotten Mathematician" by Ricardo Baeza-Yates from here
