The following are extracts from the US ICD-10 CM 2007(draft since 2003), it should be noted that while postviral fatigue syndrome and benign myalgic encephalomyeliyis are listed under the code G93.3 with chronic fatigue syndrome,postviral is now removed(listed in 2003 draft), and the exclusion being,(NOT CODED HERE) chronic fatigue syndrome NOS (R53.82). R53.82 is the only listing for CFS, note that R53.82 excludes postviral fatigue syndrome (G93.3)
Another item of some interest is the listing for Neurasthenia, where WHO ICD-10 codes under F48.0 and the US ICD-10 CM codes neurasthenia under F48.8, the WHO excludes malaise and fatigue (R53) postviral fatigue syndrome (G93.3) while the US lists no exclusions.
