The Long Road Ahead

The long road ahead,
Dark and empty,
Never changing.

I will walk there,
Alone and depressed,
Until I reach the end.

The end is dark,
But there I can sleep,
With no worries.

Holding my head high,
I will take my fate,
When I die.

Hoping it is quick and painless,
Knowing it is the opposite,
Slowing with everyone I hurt.

I add you to the many,
Knowing there are more to come,
Knowing death is in them.

When they hurt,
I am much closer to dying,
How many more will it take?

The long road ahead,
Dark and empty,
Does it come to an end?
