| Aug. 1st, 2005 A few more months have passed and now I've been to Italy for the second time this year. I've included some pictures (named Italy (Umbria)). Not to worry, my next trip won't be to Italy. It will be to a country I have visited before though. In November I'll be flying off to Nepal! May 20th, 2005 Hello all. I added some Italy pictures and have been working in the Amsterdam Fire Department for a month now. It's all good fun! April 12, 2005 All done! Yes, I've finished my studies. For now, I'm enjoying two weeks of vacation. I spent almost a week in Italy and now, one more week at home. Italy pictures will follow soon. March 4th, 2005 After a long time, another update. Right now, I'm in the final month of school. Only three more exams to go. But first I have to finish my internship in Eindhoven. No big fires yet. We're going to Sweden for the third time in about a week. It'll be playtime with lots of hazardous materials :-) And after April 1st? I'll be back in Amsterdam working for the Amsterdam Fire Department!!!! Yess, I got the job. Hopefully I'll update this a bit more soon (and fix some of the bad quality pictures). Nov 7th, 2004 I just finished a 6 weeks Internship at the Amstelveen Fire department. We raced through town with sirens many times, but most of our jobs were small. No big incidents. However, it was a great experience and I had lots of fun. Now it's back to school for a few months. Sept 26th, 2004 Wow, lots of time has passed. I've been involved in Firefighting for a year now. Lots of things have happened. I went to Costa Rica for the summer (see the costa rica trip report) and we went for our big training to Sweden for two weeks. Now I can officially act as officer in charge in big incidents. However. It's more like a driver's license. I am allowed to start learning the real thing now. Some pictures of the training have been included on the Training in Sweden page. |
