We have been loosely organized for hundreds of years, trying to stay together and finding family members along the way that have also been looking for us.
We are not Federally recognized but we are recognized by the ancestors or old ones, who have been known to attend our ceremonies. Many of us feel they (the old ones) have been pulling us back together to be a people and have been doing this for some time.
Our goal is to honor them in all things and to bring our people back to an understanding of the ways of our ancestors. We wish to leave to our children an understanding and belief in the Creator, Mother Earth and the ways that our Ancestors show us to be true and wise.
Many of us have walked this path for years. Now having found each other we have found strength and a new purpose in our hearts and feel that we have come home. We seek only Creator's guidance and the wisdom of the Ancestors.
We live by the law "do no harm" to other people or to Mother Earth, the four leggeds, or any other entity. We wish to live in peace with all people and in harmony with Mother Earth.
During the years of forced migration many of our people were lost, some to disease, some to war, some refused to be pushed any further and lived the best way they could in loosely organized groups in the white world- afraid to let anyone know they were the FIRST people. They passed on knowledge to their children in secret to keep it alive. This knowledge has survived from generation to generation. Now these children's time has come to let the world know of their existance.
