In the last 50 years, Trois-Rivières was a envied sports city. Not only they had once a baseball farm team connected with the Pittsburgh Pirates, they had also horse racing (still standing), later a Grand Prix of auto racing (now gone), and of course junior hockey (with Michel Bergeron and its Draveurs who moved then to Sherbrooke...and now to Maine !).

But Pro Wrestling was hot at the time. Especially in the 50s with the great rivalry between local hero Tarzan Babin and bad guy Maurice Vachon. It was one of the greatest feuds of all times. It all happened at the Trois-Rivieres Colisée...

Of course, Les As de La Lutte and Grand Prix went there in the 70s, still drawing a win-over crowd who watched the pro wrestling shows on TV and coming to cheer or boo their favorites...

International Wrestling in the 80s also drew crowds due to TV. And so was the WWF with a couple of shows...

Today, the Colisée stills awaits a major show, though the presence of two indy promotions: Shawinigan's FCL and the city's own Slam Angels, who prefers small inexpensive venues...
