Message From The President...
Welcome to the Michigan Chapter Society of Healthcare Consumer Advocacy (MCSHCA) website. We are a not-for-profit organization dedicated to the advancement of healthcare consumer advocacy.
Our parent organization is the national Society for Healthcare Consumer Advocacy which was founded in 1971. Our Michigan Chapter was founded by Alice Slate in 1974.
The MCSHCA is an affiliate of the Michigan Hospital Association and the American Hospital Association. Our membership represents and advocates for patients and consumers across the healthcare continuum. Our many healthcare affiliates include hospitals, medical centers, mental health facilities, health maintenance organizations, outpatient services, urgent care, dental organizations, and health insurance companies.
Membership in our organization offers a great networking opportunity for all professionals advocating for the healthcare consumer. Part of our objective is to not only provide the networking opportunity, but to also develop educational programs and activities to enhance the professional development of our members. MCSHCA meets four times per year at various locations across the State of Michigan.
