  • Recruited and evaluated Luso-Portuguese translators from industry databases and word-of-mouth recommendations. Frequent contact, feedback, and budget negotiations with vendors in Portugal and Brazil.
  • Hired external translators and proofreaders for Portuguese translations serving clients including Philip Morris, Nortel Networks, and Blockbuster Video. Edited resulting translations for client within SDLX or Trados CAT software. Other CAT tools mastered included RC WinTrans, SDL Help QA, and Robohelp.
  • Performed code-matching QA of HTML and other development platforms, including Perl, JSP, ASP, XML. The goal: identical code to the client's English-language files with only the changes necessary to cleanly display visible or printed (i.e. translatable) text.
  • Using font-matching, layering, and text effects, redesigned existing flat graphics in target languages with Adobe Photoshop and ACDeeSee.
  • Quoted upcoming projects for sales staff, predicting word count, external budget, hours of internal work, and overall turnaround.
  • Collected billing information for all vendors and in-house resources used.
