Edd and Rosia were both born and raised in Jackson, Georgia (Indian Springs, Butts County). Edd was born on February 4th, 1898 to Tom and Mary McMullen. Tom was African American and Mary was American Indian. Not much is known about his parents. Edd was the sixth of seven siblings. He transcended this life from congenital heart failure and went home to be with the Lord on April 1st, 1971. Rosia, who was the daughter of George Trailer and Lucy Trailer Ponder, was born on May 9th, 1891. She was the eldest of six siblings. Rosia transcended this life from complications of diabetes and went home to be with the Lord on March 17th, 1979. Edd and Rosia were both laid to rest at Rock Creek Baptist Church in Indian Springs.

On June 5th, 1917, Edd enlisted in the Armed Forces. Although he was not called to serve, he answered the call of duty when he enlisted. His family remembers him to be a hard working man who loved the Lord and his familiy. Edd grew up as a farmer along side of his father Tom, and farming later became his livelihood. It is not known whether Rosia had an occupation outside of the home, but she is remembered as being a housewife and helper to her husband.

Edd was a man of great integrity and one with much power is his prayers. He was a man that not only prayed the word, he lived the word. They were both members of Bethlehem Baptist church in Locust grove, GA. While serving at Bethlehem for several years, Edd and Rosia are remembered for being "the backbones" of the church. One member stated, "when they left the church, you knew it"! Rosia served on the usher and mother board and Edd was chairman on the Deacon Board. It was said that one day when Edd prayed, a mule stuck his head in the church window. "
Let every thing that hath breath praise the lord." Although this turned out to be a myth, his prayers were known to be just that powerful. One can only imagine that this mighty man of God was praying for all of us.

Edd and Rosia later moved to Stockbridge, Georgia, where they lived out the rest of their lives. In the prime of Edd's life, he had an infection in his right leg called "gangrene". This infection caused his leg to be amputated. This handicap did not stop him from serving God and being one of the most respected and well known men in Stockbridge. The love he had for his family was noticed by all who knew him. This love made it hard for him to say "No" to just about anything his children or grandchildren asked. Edd and Rosia joined Floyd Chapel Baptist Church at 104 1st street.

There they continued their service to the Lord; with Rosia still serving on the Mother Board and Edd serving on the Deacon Board. Edd, also known as Daddy Mac, Granddaddy, or Grandfather; and Rosia also known as Granny, Grandmother or Mother Rosia, were married in the early 1900's. To their union, seven children were born; three of  which preceded them in death - son Tommy Edd, daughter Lucy McMullen, and another child who was stillborn. Tommy Edd was second of the seven children born about 1919; however it is not known when Lucy was born.

Edd and Rosia's other four children from eldest to youngest, were: R.L McMullen , Elsie McMullen Daniel, Grady McMullen, and Willie James McMullen ( a.k.a S.T.). With the exception of R.L.,  the other three were married with children.

There are currently six generations in the McMullen family that are in the lineage of Edd and Rosia Lee. As the McMullen family continue to grow, our legacy will live on in Jesus Name.
