There are a variety of reasons that an older dog may be available. We breed our labradors for the type of dog we want in the showring, with this goal in mind we may hold back one or two pups from a litter with hopes to show them or to advance our breeding program. We reevaluate the pups as they get a little older and affirm our selection, sometimes neither pup will make the cut. Others may become available when they retire or if we have decided not to use them in our program. We have strict guidelines for our breeding program and strive to produce a dog that is a good ambassador for the breed and also a wonderful family member. Our older dogs are sometimes house or crate trained, may be used to living indoors, interacting with family, have had some training, are up to date on shots, wormings and AVID microchiped.
