  Where is Croc-Bank ?!    
  The Crocodile Bank is about 35 km south of Chennai (Madras) city on the scenic East Coast Highway, en route to Mamallapuram (aka Mahabalipuram). Coming from Chennai, it is about 5 km beyond Kovalam and 14 km before Mamallapuram. There are regular buses to and from the city.

At Croc-Bank  >
If you are involved in herpetological work and would like to spend more time at the Crocodile Bank, accommodation is sometimes available for 2-3 days at a reasonable cost. It is basic and clean.
An Irula women's project, which prepares herbal products like teas and shampoos, also has close ties with the Croc Bank, and can also be visited.

LEGAL STATUS OF THE MADRAS CROCODILE BANK TRUST:
The Madras Crocodile Bank is a non-profit registered Trust formed in 1976.
The Madras Crocodile Bank Trust is both a registered Trust and a recognized zoo under the Wildlife (Protection) Act, 1972. The MCB/CFH comes under the purview of the Central Zoo Authority, Ministry of Environment and Forests, Government of India. The National Zoo Policy (1998) states several objectives that zoos should pursue including education, publications, and breeding rare and endangered species. The Madras Crocodile Bank Trust’s objectives are consistent with those of the Central Zoo Authority.
