Hi Class Monitors,
We are interested in finding out from you and your friends in your class what your strengths and needs are as Malaysian youth.

What is this about?
This MCAW study (no, nothing to do with macaw birds from South America, but rather the Malaysian Child & Adolescent Well-being study) will involve a quick survey that you can complete within one class period. This survey would be fantastically helpful in helping us know how best to work with youth across Malaysia in promoting positive lives for young people.

How can you help?
We would appreciate if you could help us spread the word to your friends in class and encourage them to participate in this study. Let them know how helpful this is going to be. Actually, we can’t really help youth if the youth don’t help us understand what their needs and strengths are. We also hope that you can ensure that the attendance list for your class is available when we come to your class.

The best part
All information collected will be strictly confidential and we will not be asking anyone to write their names on the survey. Meaning, we will have no idea who wrote what. And none of your teachers or parents or principals or even Santa Claus will know what you wrote. Great huh!! You can practically say anything about your life. Of course we only want the truth.

Yes, we have consent
Just in case you’re wondering, we have the permission of your school Principal. We also will be getting your parent’s consent and your consent.

When is this?
You will see the MCAWs very soon….probably sometime in the week of _______. Your class teacher will let you know exactly when.

So see you very very soon. And thanks again for helping us help other young people across Malaysia.
