Thursday 8/28/03 Hello again! If you've checked out my most recent photo (2 months post-accutane), you must already suspect that I'm going to say that things are going well... and they are! I've not had any new notable pimples on my face in over 2 months. I can't say enough about the difference it has made in my self-esteem. I did learn from another doctor that my cholesterol and triglycerides were through the roof about a month after I stopped treatment, so he's going to keep an eye on my blood chemistry for a while. Otherwise, my dry skin and hair have returned to tolerable conditions. My face still doesn't seem to be producing much oil at all - I was sure I'd be a big grease-ball 2 months post-accutane. I hope the change is permanent. My scars are slowly fading, and my derm. prescribed Retin-A Micro for the ones that won't. After the boils went away, I realized that I have some shallow depressions on my cheeks from the past decade of breakouts. It's nothing hideous, but nothing to smile about either.
