Honus Wagner had 3 base hits as the Athens Bobkittens topped the Bat Cracking
Bombers by a score of 6 to 5 at Tiger Stadium.

Athens started with a bang, jumping out to an early lead in their half of the
first when they tallied 4 runs on 4 hits.  The big moment was provided by Ken
Williams who thrilled the crowd when he lost the ball over the fence for
three runs (his 4th of the season).  Bat Cracking had a chance to come back
in the 9th but they came up short.

Noodles Hahn(5-0) got credit for the victory, pitching 7 and 2/3 innings and
allowing 2 runs. Tom Henke earned his 6th save.  David Wells(1-4) ended up
with the loss.

When questioned about the loss, Bat Cracking's manager said, 'The fans got to
see an exciting game out there this afternoon.  Unfortunately, we couldn't
get it done this time.  Next time, though, we'll be the clubhouse with all
the smiles.'
