Harvey wasted no time and took the lead in the first inning scoring one runner. After two were out Ted Williams took charge himself, delivering a solo home run (his 1st of the season). That scoring would be all that was needed. The pitchers took over after the 2nd inning as neither team was able to score again. Cicotte(2-0) went the distance for the shutout. The losing pitcher was Jake Weimer(1-1). 'All of my pitches were working today,' Cicotte said. 'I felt really good out there, and heck, I think I could have gone longer.' |
