I had a U.F.O. sitting around for quite a while.  Finally after participating in a conversation in the QOTS yahoogroup I decided to learn how to and stipple the wallhanging.  Here are some pictures of the process and the final product.  If you're wondering where the U.F.O came from, I made the www.planetpatchwork.com mystery #116 quilt.  This was a really neat quilt to make.  If you do the mystery, you won't know what it will look like until it's finished.  (Unless you look at my pictures. If you do you will have to change the layout!!!!)  This got me addicted to mystery quilts. HeeHee
Stippling My Wallhanging
This is my first attempt at stippling on the wallhanging.  After looking at the white thread and discussing it with some people, I decided that the white thread was too much.  I pulled the thread out....Luckily it was easy to do this....and started over.
Here is an example of the final color that I decided on.  It is a light bluish-grey thread.  This color worked out real well.  I think that it sticks out enough but not too much.
This is a picture of the final stippled and binded wallhanging.  It's hard to tell the stippling this far away, but I think it turned out real nice.  I was really surprised at how much it strengthened the feel of the wallhanging.  It made the entire thing have a nicer feeling.
If you've never done stippling before do some reading on it and try it.  it is basically taking the quilt sandwich and meandering around the quilt.  The idea is to not cross over your lines.  I actually think that I was almost successful at this.  This technique is very relaxing and enjoyable to do.
