March 15, 2004 - I'm writing from Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. Hate it here. Yeah, i know, i know - how can I hate someplace that people actually pay to visit? Easy. It just sucks. Ok, maybe not from a vacation standpoint, but trying to do a convention down here? ridiculous. I'm still waiting for my stuff to arrive from the States. Who knows, they probably sold all my stuff on the way down. And the trucking company can't seem to get ahold of their drivers. Oh joy. Happy.

While I am connected to the internet, i can't seem to get my outlook mail. Just another thing that is just ticking me off. And it's probably something very basic. *SIGH*...i'll have to put in a call to my office soon.
So, another Henry story - sorry, henry, but you deserve this one. When talking smack about someone's hard work, etc, make sure that the line is clear of any person's voicemail.

Eh hem...let me explain...I get a voicemail message from an unnamed person with the initials of H-E-N-R-Y. Only the voice message isn't for me...he's actually talking to someone else on another phone. So this is the conversation that i hear:   "dude...yeah...i've got my birthday party tonight at MY house. I don't even want to go. I've had the tiles done, so my house is a mess. I'm still drunk from golfing today and all i want to do is sleep."

First of all, I was the unofficial party planner. Unofficial because a.) i didn't really have time to pull the troops together, b.) Everyone else was doing most of the work, and c.) i barely remembered that we needed to have cake for the party. (Scary to think that I'm actually an event planner).

Second, I've been feeling sick for a couple of weeks and just haven't been able to shake it off.

Last, I've been in the thick of planning for a huge Top Members so I've been losing my mind over this. I've pretty much given over my life for this event and don't have very much free time. PLUS, i still hadn't even packed for this trip.
So, needless to say that when i heard that voice message, i was ready to kick someone's butt!!!! HOWEVER, i had fun at the party - the food was good and the company was great, so that's all that matters. So it really didn't matter anymore whether or not the birthday boy had a good time because *I* did. ok, i'm off my soap box.

March 9, 2004 -
I forgot to add in one story about my boss in New Orleans.  This one can get me fired like none other can...I was standing in Mardi Gras World in front of my boss.  A crazy red-headed lady (one of our employees)
comes walking towards me & my boss, pointing, saying, "oh!!!  look at the cute little Irishman!!  It's a little leprechaun..."  Mind you, i'm standing directly in front of my boss who is of Irish descent and not overly tall.  All I could think of was, "WHAT is that crazy red-headed woman thinking??? why is she calling our boss a leprechaun???"  Then i turn around and see a leprechaun statue right next to my boss.  I couldn't contain my laughter...i just let it out & laughed like a crazy woman.  My boss knew exactly what I was thinking...all he said was, "Jenny is no longer allowed at the Top 12 trip..."  We never discussed it, so I just assumed that we were talking about the same thing...aw man...it was just too, too funny!!

March 8, 2004 -
So I'm a week out from my event and I'm sick.  This just sucks.  Oh well...time to just suck it up.

I've been working like a madwoman AND I've got a new manager.  She's nice but just looks constantly overwhelmed.  I don't blame her - she asked me how long it took me to acclimate to TF.  I told her about 2 years.  She asks, 'how long have you been here?'  My response, 'about 2 years...'

I went to see Starsky & Hutch this weekend.  Pretty funny.  I don't know if it's worth the $10 that it cost me to see the movie, but...oh well.  Of course, I would have rather seen The Passion, but I'm working my way towards it.

So, I think my boss, jack, is going to kill me.  He came in this weekend while Lisa & I were standing around gossiping about 1.) our new manager and 2.) people we worked with.  SEE, this is why you should NEVER gossip about people.  I don't know what or how much he heard, but I'm sure I'll have the talk with God soon.  Even worse, I had asked James (his son) to test out my X-Box for me.  BIG mistake.  Now he's begging his folks for one - constantly.  Jack is about ready to kill me - I'll probably have to buy the kid one - me & my big mouth.  All this on the day that he finally figured out that Beth & I put a photo of Justin Timberlake (from the Vanity Fair party) on Jack's desk next to his kids photos.  James found it & pointed it out.  Jack's a bit put out.  I think I'm going to bring that photo to Mexico with us and put it in his room.  J  Jeanette's a good sport, she'd do it...

No update next Monday, as I will be in Mexico...stay tuned...

In the meantime here is a posting about my tri to
Texas in June 2003.

March 2, 2004 -
So, last Thursday was the big vanity fair party!  It was a lot of fun!  The food was good, the alcohol was all premium selection, and we got a goodie bag at the end.  This is what I found out about the stars:

-Paris Hilton really IS as skinny as she appears
- Lance Bass & Justin Timberlake are SHORT!!!
- Dylan McDermott is HOT, HOT, HOT!!!  (And nice, too!!)
- Kevin Spacey is a hard person to stalk (people swarm him!!)...
- Kevin Costner & his wife are a very striking couple...
- Ellen Degeneres is not so funny...not so nice...
- David Spade is a stuck up jerk...
- Helena Christensen looks terrible in person...

I can't think of who else was there but it was pretty impressive!!  I had a good time with the appetizers.  If you're looking for a place to have a party, I highly suggest Chi on Sunset - it's got great atmosphere!!  The Hyatt staff really outdid themselves.  Hopefully miles can link up some photos from that evening...right
HERE....

This weekend was pretty calm...I had to come into work on Sunday...cleaned out my former boss' office - it was a MESS!!  I'm still traumatized from the experience.  My new boss starts today...a woman...we'll see...I know, I know...I've already got offers on letters of recs from people for new job prospects.  My VP promises me that I'll like her...like I said, we'll see...

The countdown has begun - 12 days before I leave to Cabo San Lucas for my big event!!!  I'm so behind & so disorganized...urgh!!  What ever made me think I could actually do this job???!!!! Ok, enough for now...

I took this
personality test and here are my results.
