| January 27, 2004 - another week of events!! Let's see...funny thing happened that I was actually not responsible for. Someone dropped a $1200 lalique vase that was being given as a retirement gift that evening. I had to laugh for a long, long time. Just until I had to go a pick up a replacement! that part sucked.
I got caught trying to point out my boss to the oncoming conga line. I tried to convince him that I was pointing just beyond his head. Unfortunately, I was climbing over a table just to point out my boss. He turned around right into my finger. Hmmm...i guess that would be hard to argue my way out of. My boss subsequently ratted me out on something I had done. Gregg, the CEO, had coined one of our employees as the "smartest man in the company" in all seriousness. The rest of the kids in school now make fun of him (the smartest man in the company). I told the MC about the title and he announced it during his introductions. Jack told Gregg that it was I who spilled those beans in the middle of another very important meeting. He sucks. If i get fired, it's going to be all his fault. That was it for the week. nothing interesting, unfortunately. :( January 17, 2004 - I can't believe how tired i am!! Work has been running me down. I think i worked about 90 hours last week, not including the hours I put in this weekend. All this for a 3% (if i'm lucky) raise and a two week bonus. What the heck? P.Ho called again on Saturday, but I didn't hear the phone ring. I didn't call back because I didn't see any point in it. On the flip side, my super hero, Tim also called. Chick problems, but it's really not a big thing. He's just the greatest dude!! I need to find a guy like him in LA!! I really didn't do anything more than work this week and won't do anything more than work next week, either!! I'm having chili at Aya & Miles' tomorrow night. Can't wait. I love chili!! YUMMMMMM!! January 13, 2004 - So i know the year is going to be crazy when I get less than 4 hours of sleep per night over the course of the first 8 nights of the New Year. I worked my @$$ off that week. Luckily everything turned out fine. I didn't have time to really enjoy it, but hey, that's not really my job, anyhow! I came up with this idea to get everyone to send in their photos from when they were in the teens/twenties. I did a slide show based off of that and it actually turned out really, really well. Everyone loved it. Now everyone is asking what my next plans will be. I'm thinking "Caught on Video" type of scenario. This can get really, really ugly. Erin F has been pretty impressed by the fact that I've been so open about my whole P.Ho experience. If anyone can learn from me, i'm all for it. I am a walking, talking "what not to do" example for all the young single ladies. Not surprisingly, P.Ho text messaged me on Saturday. I buckled like a soda can under an elephant's foot. Apparently, he asked his sister about me and got enough information to feel comfortable enough to contact me. I've said this before, but one of my pet peeves about MYSELF is that I can't hold a grudge. I'm just too tired to be angry. This does not mean that I really want to continue on with this "relationship" (i don't want to be sucked back in again). I just want enough peace that there isn't any tension. So needless to say, I told him why I was pissed off and told him that he was a crud for having done what he did. It doesn't matter what his response was because it's a load of bull anyhow. I've been really busy with work, so much so that I don't have time for a life!!! Luckily, I really like my job despite the fact that they've got someone in the wings just waiting to take my job. Whatever - if they let me go, I'll at least get a good severance package. My boss has been really cool, sometimes a bit much to work for, but once you understand him, he's ok to handle. I'll be going to New Orleans again at the beginning of February. Hopefully, it'll be more fun this time than it was the last time!! |
