ARTIST'S STATEMENT

I carry images in my mind.
I remember many places and situations by their colors.

As a painter my intention is not to copy nature, and my paintings are not intended to be photo-realist.

Color is the most important element of my paintings. I am always looking for the juxtaposition of color within any composition. I am not concerned with depicting reality as the camera sees it, whether it is in still life, nature, interiors or other subject matter.

My intention is to find the right hue with the right shade and the right tint. To me light is color, and perspective can be completely reorganized.
