13th April 2003 - Clumber
Spaniels: unfortunately, we were unable to show at the Clumber
Spaniel Club Open Show as our ladies had decided to come into
season. Nevertheless, we were very pleased to see Walter and Jane
Lucas' Eilandon Glencoe at
Lubyrnetyre (a son of Sh Ch Maursett Mindsapint) win the Minor Puppy dog
class and Best Minor Puppy at the show.
5th April 2003 - German Wirehaired
Pointers: Fizz (Normbar Coleen of Maursett)
takes Best of Breed GWP at the North of England HPR Club Open Show
(Judge: Mr J N Newton).
16th March 2003 - Basset Hounds:
Barembak Martini at Maursett takes yet another Best Puppy in Breed at
the Newton Aycliffe & District Canine Society Open Show. Clumber Spaniels:
we were delighted for Walter and Jane Lucas who went Best Puppy in Breed
and 4th in the Gundog Puppy Group with their Eilandon Glencoe at
Lubyrnetyre (a son of Sh Ch Maursett Mindsapint) on his first show
outing!
14th March 2003 - Clumber Spaniels:
great news of North American descendants of the Maursett lines.
Pat & Linda Fraser tell us that AmCdn CH
Jet Set's Deke Slayton WD JH SH MH, North America's First
Male Master Hunter is off to his Veteran's entry at CSCA National, along
with his son AmCdn CH Fly Aay Corey's John
Glenn CGC WDX JH SH MH in Hunting Dog. We congratulate
them on their fabulous achievements to date and wish them every success
at the National.
23rd February 2003 - Basset Hounds:
Barembak Martini at Maursett (Nora B) wins Best Puppy in Breed and takes 4th Place in the Hound
Puppy Group at the Easington & Peterlee Open Show.
1st February 2003 - Basset Hounds: Barembak Martini at Maursett
(Nora B) takes Best Puppy in Breed at the Darlington Canine Society's Open
Show on her first outing at just 6 months of age.
18 January 2003 - Clumber
Spaniels: Maursett
Mildraed (Crumble), in her first adult
outing, takes Best of Breed at the Northern Counties Gundog Club's
Open Show (Judge: Mrs Ewan - Craigdean). She went
on to be shortlisted by Best in Show judge Mrs E Howarth (Moorbrook).
5 January 2003 - Tony judges Cocker Spaniels,
English Springer Spaniels and German Wirehaired Pointers at the Billingham
Synthonia Canine Club's Open Show. Tony thanks the exhibitors who
braved the freezing weather conditions to attend the show. He
awarded Best of Breed Cocker Spaniel to Gibson's
Meldyke Mantilla; Best of Breed English Springer Spaniel went
to McBeth's Maclaurien Magic Maker,
their Teesview Tamarix to Maclaurien
taking the Best Puppy in Breed award. Tony awarded Best of Breed
German Wirehaired Pointer (the biggest breed class of the day) to Paul
and Gloria Robinson's Gavic Hot Shot (also Best Puppy). Julie
and Nigel Lee's Amicaro Arapaho took 2nd in GWP Open,
followed closely by Ronnie & Vera McKenna's
Amicaro Apache at Carrmyers.
