Upcoming Events

If you are interested in seeing me perform some of my work, or would like to find some of my work in publication, you have come to the right place. If not, then this is purely for self-gratification.

  • April 11, 2001 -- Montage Poetry Reading, 7 PM @ the Red Herring, Urbana, IL
  • April 12, 2001 -- Copies of the Earth Day issue of Environmental Resources will contain "Excerpt from 'Self-Portrait in Flora,'" a poetry-film piece I am working on.
  • Postponed! April 24, 2001 -- I will be participating in a broadcast on the Illinois Radio Reader, a radio station for the visually impared based out of Champaign, Illinois. This event has been postponed due to scheduling conflicts with IRR. Hopefully it will be resolved in the next few days. --MB New Date: May 3, 2001


  • May 2, 2001 -- Montage Poetry Reading, 7 PM @ the Red Herring, Urbana, IL


  • February 2002 -- "The Great Rock Turtle" will be appearing in this month's issue of Environmental Resources


  • May 2002 -- Several of my works (including "2nd Wednesday" and "Sunset") will be published in the newly created literary magazine of the Fondation des Etats-Unis in Paris entitled Roads Are Real.


  • September 21, 2002 -- I will be the MC and be performing at the first Montage Open-Mic Poetry reading of the Fall semester. 7 PM @ Green Street Coffeehouse, Champaign, IL


  • Postponed! October 2002 -- the poem "2nd Wednesday" will make its US debut in the Spring 2002 issue of Montage at the campus of the University of Illinois, Champaign-Urbana, Illinois. The release of this issue of Montage has been delayed until at least November of 2002. --MB
  • October, 25 2002 -- Montage Open-Mic Poetry Reading, 8 PM @ Green Street Coffeehouse, Champaign, Illinois.


  • November 16, 2002 -- Montage Open-Mic Poetry Reading, 8PM @ Green Street Coffeehouse, Champaign, Illinois.


  • February 20, 2003 -- Montage will be jointly hosting an Open-mic at the Independent Media Center, corner of Main and Springfield in Urbana, Illinois, 8-10 PM.


  • March 2003 -- The Fall 2002 issue of Montage will include two of my poems, "Untitled (Snap #4)" and "We are the coffeehouse junkies," and will be available on the campus of the U of I in Champaign-Urbana.


  • May 17-18, 2003 -- I will be receiving my BA in History and French from the University of Illinois!


  • Postponed! August 2003 -- The Spring 2003 issue of Montage will include one of my black and white photographs. This is my first art publication! :) The release of this issue of Montage has been delayed until at least November of 2003. --MB
