Hey everyone! Char here!

Since Mat 'tooted his horn' so well, I think I'll give it a try.

I've been singing in local bands since around 1990. Mostly rock cover bands, with some blues mixed in here and there. I was in a couple bands where we did originals, and that is fun, but doesn't seem to fly that well here in good 'ol Bloomington/Normal.

I started singing in grade school and church. I played several instruments in school and have recently picked back up on the flute and saxophone. But, I am in no way ready to play in front of people, believe me. Not even the drunk ones!

I am very excited to be in this project. I've watched Greg, Scott and Rod in AKA over the years and am quite aware of how talented they are. Mat and I were in a previous band together, Pelican Meltdown, and had a great time!!! I've only recently met Captain Ron, but have found him to be a great drummer and funny dude!!! It takes some getting used to, working with 5 other people again, as my last project, Lipstick Hippies, was just me and one other girl, and a midi machine! She played guitar, I played percussion, and it was excellent, but I alway  missed the sound of a full band.

My influences mostly came from Pat Benatar. When I heard that voice I knew I wanted to sing in a rock band. Don't get me wrong, I never felt I could sing as well as her, I just knew that I could pull it off, to some degree anyway. (Well enough to at least get paid in free beer!!) Other influences were Patsy Cline, Eagles, Fleetwood Mac & the Beatles. A great voice and excellent harmonies are my favorite music in the world!!!

Hope to see you all out, at one time or another, when we play.
And as always…......have a JAMTASTIK day!!!!
