Work Camp Qasigiannguit July 2001:  Page 2

- arranged by Mellemfolkeligt Samvirke

I had a room with a view (the mountains on the other side is about 450 metres high, naturally we had to go up there):

.

But the view was really worth it all (Qasigiannguit in the front, Disco island in the horizon.) You could see all the way to the icefiord by Ilulissat, I just haven't scanned that picture):

And then we took the fast way down from the mountain. The person in red and blue is Jeanette, and the black figure down to the left of her is Rafa:

Enjoy the wonderful nature, but be cautious, so you do not end up spoiling your trip by doing something stupid. :-]

More pictures on Page 3.

We took the long way up:

.and up, and up, and up:

There were still snow, so Rafa and Jeanette started a little snowball fight:

It was really, really steep with loose rocks and all, so if we had not had the mountaineer Yolanda in front, I would not have thouhgt it possible to do it, but of course we are not used to hights in Denmark.

The irony is that it was not until we were down, I got an injury. I jumped down from about one metre, and my foot sliped on the swampy ground. The hiking boot protected my ancle, but I twisted my knee badly, so I had to wear a bandage to support it for the rest of the camp.
