Michael Lanstrum
GENERAL INTRODUCTION:

With over fifteen years of experience in mathematics education, Michael has taught classes ranging from Developmental Mathematics to Calculus.  He has received two distinguished teaching awards from the Regional Campus System of Kent State University in addition to an Outstanding Alumni Award from Kent State University. Recently, Mike has received tutor certification from the National Tutoring Association at the advanced professional level.

In addition to numerous professional articles, Mike is the co-author of three mathematics study guides (Pre-GED Mathematics, AP Statistics, and Algebra I).  Michael has presented sessions on study skills, mathematics education, and women in mathematics for a variety of TRiO and professional mathematics conferences.

Michael also has experience in student activities and recruiting for Kent State University.  During two recent summers he participated in National Science Foundation workshops - Workshop Precalculus (2001) & Algebra Investigations Using Models with ACCLAIM (2002).

Mike is currently an Instructional Specialist in Mathematics at the Western Campus of Cuyahoga Community College.  He lives in Middleburg Heights with his wife, Kelley Fink.
