MY MASTERS

03/29/88 DAVID LEE ROTH PORTLAND, ME CUMBERLAND COUNTY CIVIC CENTER
RIG: RADIO SHACK RECORDER W/ BUILT IN MIC
LOCATION: EVEN WITH THE RED LINE, HALF WAY UP
         GRADE: B-
MY BUDDY WORKED AT RADIO SHACK AT THE TIME AND HE BORROWED A UNIT FROM
HIS WORK, WE SNUCK IT IN TO TAPE SHOW. AT THE PREVIOUS WHITESNAKE
CONCERT WE WERE AT, A FRIEND OF A FRIEND TAPED IT AND WE WERE TOTALLY
GEEKED BUY IT AND WANTED TO TRY IT FOR OURSELVES. IT WAS JUST A CHEAP
RECORDER WITH A BUILT IN MIC, SO NOTHING TOO HIGH TECH. THERE IS
VIRTUALLY NO BASS AND IT SOUNDS LIKE IT WAS RECORDED FROM THE
BATHROOM. UNFORTUNATLY, I LOANED THE MASTER TAPE OUT TO SOMEONE TO
TRANSFER IT TO CD AND I NEVER GOT IT BACK. I WAS UNABLE TO REACH THE
GUY THROUGH EMAIL OR SNAIL MAIL. I MAY BE ABLE TO GET THE SHOW BACK
THROUGH SOMEONE I TRADE IT TO BUT IT WILL SUFFER SOME GENERATIONAL
         LOSS.

02/15/00 JOAN JETT PORTLAND, ME CUMBERLAND COUNTY CIVIC CENTER

LOCATION: FLOOR, 12TH ROW TO THE LEFT
         GRADE: A-
THIS WAS THE OPENER FOR DEF LEPPARD.
MY FIRST ATEMPT TO RECORD A SHOW CAME OUT SUPRISINGLY WELL. A GOOD
STRONG RECORDING WITH MORE TREBLE THAN BASS. I HAD THE LEFT SPEAKER
         STACK POINTED DIRECTLY AT ME.

02/15/00 DEF LEPPARD PORTLAND, ME CUMBERLAND COUNTY CIVIC CENTER
         RIG: SONY ECM-MS907 > SHARP MD-MS702MK
LOCATION: FLOOR, 12TH ROW TO THE LEFT
         GRADE: A
MY SECOND ATEMPT TO RECORD ON THE SAME NIGHT. THIS RECORDING HAS A
MUCH BETTER FULL SOUND WITH MORE BASS. ON THE FIRST HALF OF THE FIRST
SONG I HAD THE RECOREDING LEVEL SET JUST A BIT TOO HIGH WHICH CAUSED
SOME MINOR DISTORTION, ONCE I ADJUSTED THE LEVEL DOWN EVERYTHING WAS
FINE. I HAD A GOOD DISC FLIP MISSING ONLY DIALOGUE. THERE IS A VIDEO
OF THIS SHOW GOING AROUND AS WELL BUT THE AUDIO IS INFERIOR TO MINE.

OPENING BAND FOR RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS. A SOLID RECORDING WITH GREAT
ENERGY, NO FLAWS TO SPEAK OF.

ANOTHER SOLID RECORDING WITH WITH NO MAJOR FLAWS TO SPEAK OF. MISSED
         NOTHING IN THE DISC FLIP.

07/22/00 PINK FOXBORO, MA FOXBORO STADIUM

OPENER FOR *N SYNC. MY FIRST ATTEMPT AT A STADIUM SHOW. I WAS
RELATIVLY CLOSE TO THE PA STACKS SO SOUND WAS NOT A PROBLEM. THE
PROBLEM WAS THE SCREAMING TEENIE BOPPERS. THE SCREAMING WASN'T TOO
BAD FOR THIS SHOW BUT EVERY TIME THE KIDS START SCREAMING IT OVERLOADED
MY MICS AND SENT MY RECORDING LEVELS TO HELL.

07/22/00 *N SYNC FOXBORO, MA FOXBORO STADIUM
         RIG: SONY ECM-MS907 > SHARP MD-MS702MK
         LOCATION: SEC. 205, ROW 13
         GRADE: B+
DISCLAIMER: THIS WAS MY WIFE'S CONCERT!
THE OVERALL SOUND IS NOT BAD ESPECIALLY SINCE I WAS NEAR THE PA STACKS.
BUT EVERY TIME THE GIRLS STARTED TO SCREAM, I WAS EAR PIERCING,
AND EVERYTHING GOES TO SHIT. NOT MUCH YOU CAN DO IN THIS SITUATION.
ONE FLAW TO NOTE: DURING THE FIRST SONG I ACCIDENTALLY SET THE
RECORDING LEVELS WAY TOO LOW FOR ABOUT 20 SECONDS. SO LOW, THAT IT
SOUNDS LIKE IT WAS RECORDED DOWN THE STREET. NO PROBLEMS WITH THE DISC
         FLIP.

08/29/00 PEARL JAM MANSFIELD, MA TWEETER CENTER
         RIG: SONY ECM-MS907 > SHARP MD-MS702MK
LOCATION: JUST BEHIND THE MIXING DESK TO THE LEFT.
         GRADE: B+
I MISSED THE FIRST 2 SONGS WAITING IN LINE TO GET INTO THE VENUE.
AS I'M RUNNING TO MY SEATS, I'M PULLING GEAR OUT OF MY PANTS AND TRING
TO GET CONNECTED IN A PANIC. THE PANIC IS REFLECTED IN THE BEGINNING
OF THE RECORDING. AMPITHEATERS ARE NOT MY FAVORITE VENUES TO RECORD
IN, UNLESS YOU ARE IN THE FIRST 15-20 ROWS YOU'RE PRETTY MUCH SCREWED.
THIS SHOW WAS EVENTUALLY RELEASED AS PART OF PEARL JAM'S OFFICIAL
BOOTLEG SERIES. THE QUALITY BETWEEN MY RECORDING AND THE OFFICIAL
IS LIKE NIGHT AND DAY. YOU CAN'T BEAT A SOUNDBOARD! SO, I DON'T FEEL
TOO BAD THAT MY RECORDING WAS PLAGUED WITH FLAWS KNOWING THAT THE BAND
WAS GOING TO RELEASE IT. MY MAIN REASON FOR RECORDING IS TO HAVE A
MOMENTO OF THE SHOW THAT I DISHED OUT BIG BUCKS FOR, IN THE END I GOT
         WHAT I WANTED.

06/05/01 U2 BOSTON, MA FLEETCENTER
         RIG: SONY ECM-MS907 > SHARP MD-MS702MK
         LOCATION: CLUB 149, ROW A
         GRADE: B+
MY SEATS WERE IN THE CORNER BEHIND THE STAGE RIGHT UNDERNEATH THE PA
STACKS. THIS SHOULD HAVE BEEN A PERFECT SPOT TO RECORD FROM AS THERE
HAVE BEEN MANY GREAT ELEVATION SHOWS RECORDED FROM THIS SPOT. HOW-
EVER I THINK THERE WAS A PROBLEM WITH THE REAR PA STACKS BECAUSE THE
RECORDING SOUNDS A BIT DISTANT. THIS ALSO PROVES TRUE FOR THE MELLOW
RECORDINGS FROM THE SAME NIGHT. HIS SHOW FOR THIS NIGHT WAS THE WORST
OUT OF ALL 4 NIGHTS THAT WERE RECORDED FROM THE SAME LOCATION BEHIND
THE STAGE. IN MY OPINION, MY SHOW IS SLIGHTLY BETTER THAN THE MELLOW
VERSION WITH MORE CLEARITY. I MISSED A FEW NOTES OF DESIRE DURING MY
MD FLIP BUT THE MISSING PART WAS SPLICED IN UN-NOTICABLY FROM THE
MELLOW SHOW. THIS SHOW WAS RELEASED UNDER THE TITLE: "THE GREATEST
BAND ON THE PLANET" REMASTERING WAS DONE BY MICHAEL ALBERQUEQE.

I HAD PERFECT SEATS FOR THIS SHOW AND IT SHOULD HAVE COME OUT GREAT!
NOTE THE KEY WORDS OF "SHOULD HAVE". I GOT BUSTED BY FLEETCENTER
SECURITY WITH 3 SONGS TO GO. THEY MADE ME ERASE MY MINI DISC. BUT
SINCE I WAS ON MY SECOND MD, I STILL HAVE THE FIRST MD. I HAVE NEVER
RELEASED THIS SHOW NOR WILL I EVER. THERE IS NO NEED TO SINCE THERE
ARE ABOUT 6 OTHER VERSIONS PLUS THE OFFICIAL DVD OUT THERE. A SNIPPET
OF MY SHOW WAS USED TO FILL THE MISSING NOTES FROM DAVYDAVES SHOW
DUE TO HIS MD FLIP. HIS SHOW IS BETTER KNOWN AS "COPS, PRIESTS, AND
         KENNEDYS"

06/08/01 U2 BOSTON, MA FLEETCENTER

THANKFULLY, A MUCH BETTER EXPERIENCE WITH THIS SHOW. I WAS IN THE
PERFECT SPOT, 15 FEET FROM THE TIP OF THE HEART. A GREAT SHOW WITH NO
FLAWS TO REPORT AND A PERFECT MD FLIP. THIS SHOW WAS RELEASED UNDER
THE TITLE: "SEND THEM WATCHES". REMASTERING WAS DONE BY MICHAEL
         ALBERQUEQE.

GOING INTO THIS ONE I KNEW WASNT GOING TO TURN OUT GOOD, BUT I THOUGHT
I'D GIVE IT A TRY ANYWAYS. I WAS LITERALLY 3 ROWS FROM THE TOP.
ENOUGH SAID! I WAS WAY TO HIGH TO GET A GOOD RECORDING AND HAD TOO
MUCH CROWD NOISE AROUND ME. IN ANOTHER NOTE: DURING MY MD FLIP, I
THOUGHT I HAD PUT MY RECORDER IN RECORD MODE, BUT I FORGOT TO TAKE IT
OUT OF THE PAUSE MODE. I DIDN'T NOTICE THIS UNTIL 20 MINUTES HAD
PASSED. SO, I PUT MY GEAR AWAY AND JUST WENT CRAZY WITH EVERY OTHER
MOFO AROUND ME. IT WAS TOUGH TO KEEP QUITE DURING THE FIRST HALF GIVEN
THE INCREDIBLE SET LIST, SO, THIS WAS ODDLY ENOUGH, A RELIEF. TO SUM
UP, I'VE GOT DISC 1, BUT IT'S TOTAL CRAP. IT WILL NEVER SEE THE LIGHT
OF DAY. NO BIG DEAL THOUGH, THERE ARE ABOUT 6 OTHER QUALITY VERSIONS
         OUT THERE.

         GRADE: A
THIS IS MY BEST EFFORT TO DATE. AFTER MY INCIDENT WITH FLEETCENTER
SECURITY ON 6/6/01 I DECIDED TO UPGRADE TO SMALLER, STEALTHIER,
AND BETTER MICS. THIS A GREAT SHOW WITH A GREAT SET LIST ON LARRY'S
BIRTHDAY. THE ONLY MINOR BLEMISH IS THAT THE VOCALS ARE A BIT SOFT
IN SOME SPOTS. BUT DON'T LET THIS DISCOURAGE YOU, ITS VERY MINOR TO
THE OVERALL SHOW. THIS SHOW HAS GREAT TREBLE AND VERY GOOD BASS. AT
MY MD FIP I MISSED A LITTLE BIT OF LARRY'S SPEECH, HOWEVER, THE MISSING
DIALOGUE WAS SPLICED IN FROM DAVYDAVES RECORDING TO COMPLETE THE SHOW.
THIS SHOW WAS RELEASED UNDER THE TITLE: "SLOW DANCING IN PROVIDENCE"
REMASTERING WAS DONE BY MICHAEL ALBERQUEQE.

08/05/02 LENNY KRAVITZ MANSFIELD, MA TWEETER CENTER

         GRADE: A-
THIS A VERY GOOD RECORDING WITH GOOD OVERALL SOUND CONSIDERING IT WAS
RECORDED IN AN AMPITHEATER. THERE ARE NO MAJOR FLAWS TO REPORT, I HAD
A PERFECT MD FLIP WITH NO LOSS OF DIALOGUE OR MUSIC. SIMPLY PUT,
AMPITHEATERS SUCK! REMASTERING WAS DONE BY MICHAEL ALBERQUEQE.

07/15/03 EAGLES BOSTON, MA FLEETCENTER
         RIG: OKMIIr > A3 > TCD-D100
         LOCATION: LOGE 2, ROW 16
         GRADE: A
THE OVERALL SOUND ON THIS ONE CAME OUT PRETY GOOD WITH EXCEPTIONAL
BASS. HOWEVER, I DID HAVE A FEW PROBLEMS. I HAD SOME
SORT OF CONNECTION PROBLEMS DURING THE FIRST AND THIRD
SONGS WHERE THE SOUND CUT BACK FOR ABOUT 30 SECONDS. I
ALSO HAD SOME BATTERY ISSUES. MY BATTERIES WENT DEAD
DURING "HOTEL CALIFORNIA", AND I DIDN'T NOTICE IT UNTILL THE
MIDDLE OF "TAKE IT EASY". I PUT IN SOME FRESH BATTERIES
AND FINISHED OFF THE SHOW. FORTUNATLY, I WAS ABLE TO FIND
ANOTHER SOURCE OF THIS SHOW FROM CHUCK CHERICO WHO LET ME
USE HIS RECORDING TO PATCH IN WHAT I MISSED. THANKS
CHUCK! REMASTERING WAS DONE BY MARC KIM. THE SHOW IS NOW
         SEEMLESS AND SOUNDS GREAT.

08/18/03 DEF LEPPARD PORTLAND, ME CUMBERLAND COUNTY CIVIC CENTER
         RIG: OKMIIr > A3 > TCD-D100
         LOCATION: FLOOR 1, ROW P (16TH ROW)
         GRADE: A+
THIS SHOW CAME OUT GREAT. HOWEVER, RARELY DOES A SHOW EVER COME OUT
WITHOUT A HITCH. THE ONLY PROBLEM I HAD ON THIS ONE IS 2 OF
MY SWITCHES ON THE BACK OF MY D100 "MYSTERIOUSLY" GOT
CHANGED. I'M NOT SURE HOW IT HAPPENED BECAUSE I DIDN'T CHANGE A THING
FROM MY LAST RECORDING. THE 48KHZ BUTTON GOT SWITHCED TO LP AND THE
MANUAL REC LEVEL SWITCH GOT SWITCHED TO AUTO(ACG). SO, BASICLY I GOT
A RECORDING WITH LEVELS WERE SET CONSERVATIVLY. REMASTERING WAS DONE
BY MARC KIM. MARC ADDED SOME BASS AND BOOSTED THE OVERALL VOLUME.
         THIS SHOW IS NOW AWSOME!

04/23/05 MOTLEY CRUE PORTLAND, ME CUMBERLAND COUNTY CIVIC CENTER
         RIG: OKMIIr > A3 > TCD-D100
         LOCATION: SEC D, ROW 12
         GRADE: A-
I EXPERIMENTED WITH MY BASS ROLL OFF LEVELS AND GOT A PRETTY FLAT SHOW.
MARTIN KLINGMEYER REMASTERED THE SHOW FOR ME AND GIVING IT SOME BASS
PUNCH AND MORE DEPTH TO THE SHOW. MARTIN ALSO CUT BACK SOME OF THE
PYRO EXPLOSIONS SO THAT IT WONT CRUSH YOUR EAR DRUMS. OVER ALL, A
         NICE SOUNDING RAUNCY SHOW.

04/24/05 LENNY KRAVITZ BOSTON, MA ORPHEUM THEATRE
         RIG: OKMIIr > A3 > TCD-D100
         LOCATION: BALCONY CENTER, ROW D
         GRADE: A
THIS WAS ANOTHER SHOW REMASTERED BY MARTIN KLINGMEYER. MARTIN
BASICALY CLEANED UP THE SHOW A BIT, GIVING MORE DEFINITION TO THE THE
OVERALL SOUND. THIS IS A GREAT SOUNDING SHOW, PROBABLY ONE OF THE BEST
         SOUNDING LENNY AUDIENCE SHOWS.

05/24/05 U2 BOSTON, MA FLEETCENTER
         RIG: OKMIIr > A3 > TCD-D100
         LOCATION: GA FLOOR -INSIDE ELIPSE
         GRADE: A
I GOT SCANNED INTO THE ELIPLSE FOR THIS SHOW. I DEBATED WETHER
I WANTED TO STAY IN THE SWEET SPOT OR GO INTO THE ELIPSE. I TOOK
THE OPPORTUNITY TO GET INSIDE AND HAD A BLAST REGARDLESS. THE SOUND
WAS NOT QUITE AS GOOD AS IT WOULD HAVE BEEN OUTSIDE, IT SEEMED TO
LACK SOME BASS PUNCH. BUT THE RECORDING DID COME OUT PRETTY GOOD
REGARDLESS. NO MASTERING WAS DONE TO THE RECORDING OTHER THAN
         NORMALIZATION.

05/26/05 U2 BOSTON, MA FLEETCENTER
         RIG: OKMIIr > A3 > TCD-D100
         LOCATION: BAL 326
         GRADE: A-
I WAS ABLE TO GET A FRIEND OF MINE (WHO USE TO WORK FLEETCENTER
SECURITY) GET ME TO THE FLOOR. AFTER SCOPING THINGS OUT, MY FORMER
SECURITY FRIEND, SAYS THAT HE THINKS HE CAN GET US INTO THE ELIPSE.
IN ORDER TO DO THIS, WE HAD TO LEAVE THE FLOOR AND GO TO THE LOGE
SECTION NEXT TO THE STAGE. MY FRIEND SETS IT UP WITH ONE OF HIS
SECURITY BUDDIES, AND HE WILL COME GET US LATER BEFORE THE SHOW
STARTS. THE SECURITY GUY COMES TO GET US A COUPLE AT A TIME (THERE
WERE 5 OF US) HE TAKES 3 AT FIRST AND SAYS HE'LL BE BACK FOR ME AND MY
OTHER BUDDY. WELL....THE SHOW IS STARTING, MY TAPE IS ROLLING, AND
I'M STILL STUCK NEXT TO THE STAGE IN THE LOWER SECTION. THE SECURITY
GUARD NEVER CAME BACK FOR US AND WE GOT KICKED OUT OF THE SECTION WE
WERE WAITING IN BY AN USHER. BY NOW, THE FIRST SONG IS STARING, THE
BAND IS HITTING THE STAGE AND I'M RUNNING THROUGH THE CONCOURSE AND UP
THE ESCALATORS! YOU CAN HEAR THIS ALL ON THE TAPE. SO, JUST BECAUSE
OF ONE IGNORANT USHER AND 1 SECREWED UP SONG, MY TAPE WAS RUINED. THIS
SHOW WILL NEVER SEE THE LIGHT OF DAY. TOO BAD, BECAUSE THE REST OF IT
TURNED OUT PRETTY GOOD FOR BEING BEHIND THE STAGE.

A NICE RECORDING, A BIT OF LEVEL ADJUSTMENT AT THE BEGINNING BUT A NICE
         OVERALL SOUND.

         GRADE: A
ANOTHER NICE RECORDING, NO FLAWS TO REPORT. NO REMASTERING WAS DONE.
THE VOCALS WERE POORLY MIXED INTO THE OVERALL SOUND, JOE'S MIC SHOULD
HAVE BEEN TURNED UP JUST A BIT.
