While on the trip, Ashmore photographed the action and his surroundings and also kept a journal of the interesting things he saw on the road and on the ice.
I'm pretty confident that the trip was a success, regardless of any speed bumps I may have encountered along the way. It's late May and I'm already thinking about all the various arenas around the league I'd like to go to, including ones I still haven't been to yet which are relatively close, like Nassau Coliseum. Hopefully I can iron out problems such as having our car break down under the Ben Franklin Bridge in Philly or going home in a tow truck after the Flyers game...and yes kids, that was two separate trips. And, hopefully, I'll be able to have many more awesome memories to bring home with me as well. From seeing two jersey numbers get retired; meeting Don King, seeing what was likely Mark Messier's last NHL game and goal and watching the Devils get eliminated in my first playoff game, I sure had a great time. The Boston cab ride, 20 hour bus rides, the Jaguar guy...so much fun. Thanks to everyone who helped me live my dream.
It's late May and I'm finally starting to get around to updating things. My final game schedule has been posted, with game photos and road journals to follow. I'm already planning out my next tour, and hopefully it's a lot bigger than this year's. I ended up going to six arenas and 17 games on the tour, 22 games overall for the season. Hopefully I can go to maybe fewer games but in more arenas. I'm shooting for 10 next season, but that's assuming there's hockey to watch...
