Under God

United we stand, Blessed by God's hand
Free as a people and also our land
We fought in wars for America to be free
Now we fight for one word, please let it be
 
The word is "God" and under Him we are
Unconstitutional?... It's gone way too far
Trust in God our forefather's had hold
One misinterpretation, and the word has been sold
 
Because of a few, must all of us suffer?
From change, America's Pledge needs a buffer
Many God fearing men found this land, they had say
It's unfathomable; one atheist can get his own way
 
We've taken for granted our freedoms and rights
But now we feel different since that September sight
Our nation was trampled; our security had been rift
We look now on our liberty as God's greatest gift
 
We've been through a lot, this year has been bad
Our feelings we deal with both angry and sad
But we will survive just as we've done in the past
Our patriotism will conquer and our freedom will last
 
So let's celebrate our country's Stars and Stripes
Look to the sky for the colored sparks of light
God blesses our country, we know that for sure
So, America, stay strong, more than ever before!
