Personal Sites: Chuck's Backpacking Bonanza - superb site - some excellent photos but mostly excellent information on several hiking spots throughout the USA.  Tom's High Sierra Backcountry Pages offers some very nice photos - dedicated to the Sierra Mountains.  For beautiful pictures of the Florida Everglades wonderfully narrated try the Everglades Photography by David E. McNeely.  Some beautiful pictures of wildlife and landscape also can be seen at this site that emphasizes the Texas scene.  Have a look at Escaping to Nature: A Cyberspace Guide to Hiking.
Park Sites: Parks Canada - The main menu page for all Canadian national parks.  Park Net is the US National Park Service.  The Coastal Hiking Trail in Pukaskwa National Park in Ontario is one I want to do soon.  The California Bureau of Land Management is not a park site but they have several interesting looking hikes on the land for which they are responsible.  I'm particularly interested in hiking in the Grand Canyon and came across this excellent site by the US National Parks Service.
Specific Trails: Trans Canada Trail, Pacific Northwest Trail, Appalachian Trail Conference, Pacific Northwest Hikes, Juan de Fuca Marine Trail, Detail on several trails if you're ever in the Tucson area - Tucson Hikes: An Illustrated Guide.  Go from border to border down the coast on the California Coastwalk.  More delightful pictures and trail narrative at Backpacking in the Canadian Rockies - Banff.  Great pictures and details on specific trails in Hiking in The Canadian Rockies
Online Magazines: The BackpackerExplore MagazineBackpackerViews From The Top is a great online magazine with marvellous pictures and a copious record of gear reviews by readers.  This site is really worth your time.  TrailWalk has great equipment reviews and more.  It is a must!  Outdoor Action is another loaded site with great equipment lists.  Canadian Geographic
Gear: REICampmor.comNorthwest Outdoors
Hiking Societies/Associations: The American Hiking SocietyThe Grand Canyon AssociationChattanooga Hiking ClubSierra Club
Intriguing sites:  Try the L.L.Bean Park Search to get great information on parks world wide.  Links for every possible outdoor activity are at Outdoor Resources Online.  If you're travelling down California #395 this site is interesting and has some good stuff on Yosemite as well. Seems like a million links all about Canada at Out There.   The Lightweight Backpacker is a fantastic site for those who want to try to travel light and it has much broader appeal too.  For every possible travel or outdoor activity worldwide and a gear resource too...and all sorts of stuff.  Try the Great Outdoor Recreation Pages.  For an unbelievable amount of history and ability to search by name check out Peaks of The Canadian Rockies by Dave Birell.  It's amazing.  Hiking and Walking Homepage is another source of a gazillion web links.  Outstanding visual material on Scrambling Nigel Peak.  More links at the Backpacking and Hiking Trailhead and Peak to Peak
My favourite book on hiking in the Canadian Rockies:

The Canadian Rockies Trail Guide: A hiker's guide to Banff, Jasper, Yoho, Kootenay, Waterton Lakes, Mount Assiniboine & Mount Robson. Sixth Edition - Revised. By Brian Patton & Bart Robinson.  Summerthought, Banff, Alberta, 1994.  Last price was $14.95 Cdn.
